I have never caught catfish on anything but smelly as all hell bait. The more it stinks the better! And he was using what looked like some sort of lead headed plastic or rubber or whatever lure in super fast water. Pretty much the exact opposite of what I would expect for ideal catfish fishing condition and bait. But he obviously knows what he was doing. So much so that to me he looks as if he has developed that. I-m not sure what to call it. but like a sixth sense when you have fished so long in your life and possibly fished the same spot after the same type of fish that your fishing becomes instinct. The adrenaline starts pumping and you become locked in and you just Do! He has that look about him to me: -)

Never wear chest waders next to fast current! You fall in and the waders fill with water and become the anchor that drowns you. Wear hip boots those you can simply slip off and swim in an emergency.
