Great video Tom. Quick question on the Surgeons' Knot; should I wish to leave a dropper on after tying, which tag end do I trim? One end normally tends to point down to towards the tippet and the other end usually points up and across

For me, I use the non-slip loop knot for streamers, improved clinch knot while nymphing and dry fly fishing, double surgeons to tie leader to tippet and since I make my own leaders I often use the perfection loop knot

Good video, Tom! I personally prefer a Uni-Knot to the Clinch, and the Double-Uni to the Triple Surgeon. As you say, with practice, these can be tied easily in low light or without reading glasses.

I have been fly fishing for over 40 years and, I only use, improved clinch, double surgeons and speedy nail knots. Although i know all knots, these are the ones I use.
