I have no faith in soft plastics. Yes they attract pike and muskie, yes they hit it. but I lose so many fish on them! Their teeth stick into the rubber and I either dont get a good hook set or the lure gets slashed from the hook set. I stick to hard baits, better hook up % and I can catch dozens of fish without turning the $30 lure into trash.

Pike fishing on the St Lawrence River is just about the most epic thing to do, or so I thought.

I did land one a couple of weeks ago while Crappie fishing. Light tackle and Pike. what a fight!

Being from northwestern Ontario, I was taught to hate pike, however I don't care what anybody says, catching big pike is a lot of fun. And yes they are slimy. LOL. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.

Thanks Jay, always learning something new from you. Never thought of just keeping a bolt cutter in the boat to cut that hook off that you can not reach on those ones you want to let go safely. Well done!

Missed a central Iowa muskie this past weekend about the same size as the big one. I just hate those momentary lapses in concentration right at the boat with a nice one inches behind the bait.

I love your videos! I notice that you dont finish your retrieve with a figure 8, like musky fishing. We catch a lot of followers using it. Keep the videos coming.

Pike do some whacked out things sometimes. I've seen them jump right out of the water after a bait and run themselves head first into the side of the boat.
