The rod action gives it away. That first fish was totally a smallmouth. Head shakes like a walleye, runs / power like a pike! How does small mouth taste with a coating of Catch and Cook! ;-)

I know you take the safety precautions of being on early ice but you should really think about always going with Atleast one person. Theres only so much you can do alone. Loved the video

On the west coast when bottom fishing you need to have a descending device to get none retention fish back where you caught them from. Is that something you could do in this instance?

Cool. Ive never targeted bass through ice but I caught my first ever smallie ice fishing last spring going for walleye, and it was a decent 19.

Why done you drill a 2nd hole for the Transducer. thin ice 20 seconds and you keep the fight on the fish

Great video Jay! Are you using a VND filter with those lenses? Im assuming you are, especially on the ice with those bright and sunny days.
