It's always great to see freshwater fisherman get into saltwater. I've never really understood the appeal of bass fishing since I grew up catching redfish in eastern NC. I catch eight inch croakers that fight harder than the five pound largemouth that is my personal best. Lol.

If you thing that's fun you should go yellowtail and calico bass fishing in southern California. Yellowtail are in the amberjack family and calico bass are like smallmouth that took steroids. Iv'e seen guys get spooled with heavy ocean gear by a small 10lb yellowtail.

I love salt water fish more then fresh water. 1 for the fight and 2 the challenge. Went to w place in south Louisiana (shore) and latterly threw the line out and nicked one on the side. By the end we had fish falling out of the ice chest

I live in alabama. And sorry to tell you but those red snapper were very small. If you came down again I could ask a buddy of mine to take you out and you would catch like 15- 25 pound snapper

When I usually go I rent a kayak and go out in the ocean from onshore and catch some massive stingray, catfish, snapper, and a shark. It's pretty awesome you should do that
