STOCKING My POND with Bass I CAUGHT while FISHING

It was finally time to stock the brute bakery so i headed out fishing at a pond and caught a bunch of bass to stock my pond with Matthew Mannering: I did the same thing with my pond about 4 years ago. it took us sometime but in about a month, we put about 65 bass and they just ate everything up so dont worry they will take that sunfish population down. Add bass or baitfish saver to the water its like a booster shot to the fish also keeps ammonia levels down

I would have waited until the fall when the rain slows down, drained the lake, put the fish in stock tanks, and dug out the entire Bakery with an Excavator and or Bulldozer as far down as possible, and wait for it to refill. The more square footage you have in the pond, either up or down, the more fish it can support and you don't want to do this after you have the pond ecosystem running the way you want it. It also means you can pick exactly the fish you want in the pond, you can landscape the banks, setup your artificial structure, pour a small boat ramp, and work on your drainage plan / spillway. Then again I don't have to put exciting YouTube videos out every week. I might even consider tagging fish (maybe even radio tagging) and keep records of them (effort)

Id say just keep putting them in slowly then when bedding season hits up there for yall next year go sight fish some big females off the beds then put them in there for genetics and then they will also help out with eating the sunfish. My opinion you should keep the sunfish in the pond but catch some of the bigger ones and take out leave small ones so bass can eat them. It will help by them having my food to eat and will allow them to grow bigger.

Im here in Houston btw love your videos

My pod has to many bass witch is wierd its because the bass are getting so many that the big ones are dying because they arent big enough to eat the other ones because all the fish are getting the same size and they cant eat each other so u could say its getting over stocked

Finaly Da Bass Are Coming Home Dude, you need to do that like 20 more times. Me and my bro did this to our 8 acre lake in Michigan with Smallies. 3 years we were pulling out 5 & 6 lbs-ers. Ive got a dozen people watching how yours turns out Good Luck.

If you are having an algae problem, my land lord dyed his pond with blue pond dye and it helped a lot. Limited the light penetration so the algae couldnt survive in deeper parts. Cleaned it up real nice
