This has nothing to do with anything, but crickets hooked under their shoulder plate and out the rear on a small hook, no weight, 4lb test on an ultralight? The crickets dance on top of the water and fish can't stand it. Might not work ice fishing, and you can't cast more than 10 feet, but they get SMOKED. Fish figure they fell in and rush them. I catch bluegill and crappie EVERY cast if there are fish there. I've literally caught over 100 bluegill in a few hours doing this. Just a tip for pan fish guys.

You dont know too much about icefishing Im guessing? Drilling the hole is actually probably safer than using the chisel, and those are not Hot Springs those are natural springs which makes terrible ice where I live

The little bar is technically called a spud. Its a heavy sharp chisel obviously used to check ice thickness. Just trying to help dont want to sound condescending.
