For those notches you need chisels. Would be way easier and make a much better result. But for what you re doing the uneven flat bars will work, just a lot more physical work. Not as easy with a flat bar as it is with a chisel by any means.

Loved seeing the floor made in a time lapse. You can see a bulge when nailing it but there s always that somebody that pays way closer attention to details than everyone else and fixes that bulge from the ply wood and double checks everything to see it s perfect.

Couldve built the floor in smaller more manageable sections then just fastened them together but that would've required you to double up on the rim joist and you would need more floor joists than maybe what was supplied.
Not sure what your kit includes.

Flair I would have done it the same exact way, I m a catcher in baseball but haven t ever played catch like that that looked pretty hard to do first try.
