LakeForkGuy, great review and great up close video, however I have just received my Chronarch CI4+ and would like to point out that it doesn't have magnetic braking. The knob on the side that you pointed out to be the Mag Brake Is actually an adjustment of a cone clutch, which adjusts how quickly the centrifugal brake activates. Pull it apart properly and have a look. turning the knob adjusts the depth of the cone that engages with the weights.

A request. next time can you break down the reel to components, I would like to see the drag system, and what bearings are they using, are there bearings in the worm gear? how many? A lot of reels out there especially high end are using plastic frames and plastic worm gear housing. Im not paying 200 for plastic parts.

Bought one and used it for 2 days 6 to 8 hours each worth of fishing. Damn reel was freaking smooth and cast further then any I own. But during the 2nd day it started making a grinding noise. read about it and people has the same problems. Went and bought a Metanium DC instead. I want to give it another shot but. idk.

Too bad people making video's don't have a clue about the product. There are no magnetic brakes on this reel. His reel knowledge therefore is in question and he should not be listened to. He is giving false information. Shimano should be ashamed of this.

I'm debating between this reel or the Antares reel. I use it for striper fishing. Topwater, jerkbaits, crankbait. Big price difference but is what it is. What would you recommend? Keep up, the good work man. The ci4 or the Antares?

I do love the magnetic braking system for some reason I always have liked my magnetic reels better. I really should use both this coming spring to let me figure out the answer,

This looks amazing, I've never owned a bait caster but I am going to get one. A little out of my price range. I was look for something maybe closer to 50-100 any suggestions?

Could you turn off the breaks mentioned at 3: 13 and only use the magnetic breaks? Would it affect the performance of the reel in any way?
