Not sure if I am right: 1) when spooling the reel, it's okay to put the line spool vertically, just feed the line counter clockwise. Same as when laying the pool down. 2) Some lines have more memory than others. After filling the spool, I take the spool off, carefully put it under a faucet and let hot water flow over it for 20 sec. Be careful not to get water into the drag discs-put some paper towel ball to block it. This heat will reset the memory and the line will not jump off spool anymore. And, line won't be damaged at all.

Aaaanyhoo.
I was looking for a way to prevent the line from holding the shape of the bale after you cast. Throwing your bait out there and having your line all coily as it lands in the water is ugly. I currently use green 15lb braid but it's a little heavy for some of the smaller baits i have so I figured I'd try some 10-12lb fluorocarbon and see if I can't get the smaller baits a little further and then there's the invisibility factor I was curious to try as well.

Good tips, now i have a question regarding a baitcaster with 30 lbs power pro regular braid, the line keeps biting into the spool and when i make a long cast it brakes off and off goes my lure, now I'm aware of the fact that it happens after catching a fish or getting snag and all that but my question is are other brands of braided line are the same or is it just power pro? also i do try to keep an eye on my spool to try and prevent future problems but it seems to happen way to often. Thanks Justin.

Another good way to decrease the kinks and twists (flouro, mono)is to take the spool of your reel and soak it in warm to hot water (depending on how bad it is) for 10-15 minutes and it should be ready to rock n roll, I do this about 3-4 times a year and never have to change line, after I take it out of the water I just oil it a little and casts like a dream with no kinks or twist.

Another thing is that you are putting too much line on the reel. So, when you happen to open the bail, the excess line will spill out. Also, you should try to tie your line to a tree, pole, etc. and walk it out until all the line is off. Then, pull until you fell the tension build. This should straighten the line and there will also be less line memory.

Braid to a fluorocarbon leader is the way to go. I started using it and you save money, then braid doesn't cause line twists, and you get more sensitivity. But before I started using braid to flouro I would spray down with the KVD line and lure and it would soften the flouro on to the spool and would add a little bit of strength.

I was having a problem with my ardent wire spinning reel, I was getting knots in my line almost every cast, I switched from 15lb braid to 12lb flouro and continued to have the same problem and tried reel magic but continued to have the same problem

One trick I commonly use is after spooling take the spool off with the reel and let it soak in VERY hot water, it will take the memory out and it will learn the spool. Dry it off real good and put back on the reel and you're good to go
