A full moon that's high in the sky is suppose to make fish better able to go deep because there's less water pressure on them. It's like low barometric pressure. When you get low barometric pressure and a full moon at the same time, fish can supposedly go much deeper than usual, so you have to change your tactics.
I have no idea how accurate this is in the real world. Things are often very different in theory and in practice, but it seems to work this way for me. I find I catch more fish is I deeper lures, or deeper live bait, etc.
For me, the ideal time to fish is when the full moon is high in the sky during the day, the barometric pressure is low, and I KNOW these things are happening. If I fish as if they aren't, I get very few bites. If I fish as if they are happening, I seem to have pretty good days.
But I've yet to find a weather pattern, or anything else, that works the same way every last time. Just when I think I have it figured out, the fish figure out that I have it figured out, and start doing something different.

I bass fished for years, then got addicted to fresh water striper fishing. Moved to the coast and now fish saltwater and inland fresh water striper when possible. After years of trying fishing on a full moon due to catching good weather days, I have never had much luck on a full moon. Fish feed at night and the bite is off the following morning, it effects deer movement for hunters also. I no longer plan on fishing trips on a full moon. My wife was wanting to go shark fishing this past weekend, I told her the bite would be off due to full moon. I took her just because she wanted to go, caught a few small sharks. Last trip out on quarter moon, we caught a few 3'-4' blacktips, (2) 6' spinners and (1) 7' hammerhead in 4 hours. Moon phase changes things on the water.

When you get back from Canada, could you do a show on tying popular fishing knots?
I've been a physician and surgeon for 30 years and I have no problem with surgical knots but I must of had a brain fart because I just can't remember fishing knots.

The more full the moon is, better night fishing. Less moon better day fishing. That's what I've always been told and it seems to work. Graph interpretation is great, would love to see more.

Yeah, I agree. I have done and do like bass fishing at night especially in places where there is a lot of pressure and those full moon nights that's when those lunkers come out!
