Hope u and wifey had a wonderful time in the islands. Born and raised on Oahu and wife born and raised on Hawaii island in Hilo. Both live in California but we will always call Hawaii our home. Hope you tried some Marlin sashimi or poke. that is incredible!

Was just vacationing in Kauai last month. Best cheap advice, go buy some frozen raw unpeeled shrimp from the walmart, use 2lb mono, micro hooks and the smallest split shots. Find some reef and prepare to catch tons of the coolest reef fish ever.

I was on a school camp where access to the fishing spot was restricted cause some scouts burnt half the mountain down. I caught 11 with a bamboo pole last time so you can understand my disappointment

I don't understand everyone's obsession with GT's. Seriously, go to the Gulf of Mexico and catch an Amber Jack, or Jack Crevalle there a dime a dozen and pretty much the same thing.
