How to build diy fishing jugs for catfishing using foam pool noodles, pvc and bottle jugs. The jug line technique has been used for many years using standard jugs and bottles, but now there is a way to build strike indicating float jug that show when a catfish has grabbed the line. Since I am building these for the first time, I will be showing you how to tie the fishing knots and what line to use as well and how this technique works. Happy fishing!

I run the same kind of setup, but stay between 5 and 15 feet deep. Mine are all free floating with 1/2 or 3/4oz bank sinkers on the line to bring the bait down. 18 piece of 3/4 scd40 (or lighter) pipe, capped, and an 12 piece of pool noodle down by the hook with reflective tape at the opposite end. Never found a need for the internal weight, but I sit out on the boat and watch the jugs bounce. Works great!

I like the PVC and noodle idea. The problem with bottles and jugs is that I'm always saving them in case of projects like this, and then the family just can't understand why there's a bunch of empty bottles around.
Whereas with the PVC idea, I just go pick up the supplies when I am ready to build them.
Thanks!

LOVED the Hank Williams shoutout. Whats the chance you and home do a collaboration video? Would be a hit.
Short series on knots would be cool. There are so many out there with pros and cons for each scenario.
Long time lurker. First time commenter. Love your stuff. God bless you and the fam.

Dear LFG, yesterday I found one of those tackle buddy line keeper things in the trash yesterday, and there was 14 crawler harnesses, I now keep it in my truck in case I ever see you so you can have them. -sincerely, Nick

LFG noodles work but you get alot more flotation from a 2 liter bottle if you want it to stand up after a fish hits it put a little bit of pea gravel in them it works fine for me

I cut tags out of a jug and wrote my info on with a permanent marker. Punched a hole in the corner and used zip ties. I put a tag on each jug, and one at the anchor point.

You need a reflective tape on the end of your PVC Pipe that will be sticking out of the water when the fish bite so you can find it after dark. Other than that A good vid.

This shouldnt be legal. People put these out and just leave them. I paddle the Colorado. Theyre all over the place. Nothing but garbage and a hazard for wildlife.

Cool video LFG. I would like to try this but since Jug fishing is not allowed here in Wisconsin I will have to wait and see if I travel to a state that allows it.

Where does the need to be white in Texas come from? TPWD regulations specifies it can be any color other than orange as orange is for commercial use.
