Justin,
I've been catching catfish by the dump truck load for over 25 years. I HAVE NEVER had so much as a bite on that stink bait bs. or the bag O shad. That stuff is bs. my favorite bait is cut bait (Any kind of panfish will do. Night crawler's get bites fast but come off quick, katabba worms work really good too but I can only get em certain times of the year. Believe it or not a bag of shrimp from grocery store works. Oh year and freakin chicken liver inside a panty hose lol. It works and helps the bait stay on the treb hook.

Tip number one that you should do when your bringing up the line hook set it like a rod or pulled it up fast that way if there is one bitting it it will get hooked tip. number two raw hot dogs dont stay on the hook that good they can easily fall off. Also your hook size and shape matters you want to use a 3/0 odd or a 4/0 odd depending how big your catfish are and I would recommend a circle hook. These are just some ideas you can use and they have worked for me before when catching cats

I have caught bass on Bar-S hot dogs, too. Pan fish love dried hot dog bits when raw chicken is not available. I am going to use fish heads as cut bait in a nearby lake and see what bites. It is like watching bobbers. have not trained myself to like that yet, but it is fall, water is black or muddy, sight fishing not what it was in summer. Fish get cold and stop eating. I cannot remember a time when sunshine mattered more to me. Sigh. Persistence and patience, they say.

First time watching your videos.
I like the idea but I didn't realize your fishing area will be like that. I had imagined it to be some river or something without boat traffic.
I don't know the methods of how a boat might pass through that area and not get all tangled up with the lines that are dangling down in the water. Though I suppose it could be a case of just give it a wide birth if we see something like the jugs or PVC pipes sticking out of the water.

you will catch more with 10 feet of line which is more easily controlled with a half hitch on the hook end of the noodle jug Go into shallower bays and not out in the main lake for easy to catch cats in 5-10 ft of wate

Put the pool noodle on the ends, pvc in the middle with the line. I catch a ton this way. Also get some reflective tape to put on the noodles. Hell of a lot easier to see with a light.

I put a barrei swivel every 4 o 5 feet and then if i want a shorter length i just snap 1 or 2 fight back into the first barrel snap or the eye bolt. the lines are not tangled either.

Our family uses velveta cheese for cats. Tried all the other stuff. Stink, dead, paste, doe, dogs, all of it. Nothing as effective as velveta. HIGLY recommend it.

Being into woodworking you probably have the tools to do this but if you have a lathe you can cut nice spirals in the foam and wrap your line neatly that way.
