In this Catch, clean and Cook I prepare Florida Pompano. The Pompano fish was caught while surf fishing on the beach in Marco Island, Florida. I was snook fishing, but was welcomed with one of the best tasting fish to eat instead. I show how to fillet the pompano and reveal a simple gourmet fish recipe. The pompano is a saltwater fish that roams Florida Beaches and is highly sought after for its food value.

Personally I love Pompano it seems to be the best eating of any fish. A light, flaky texture that will take on the flavor of anything you put on it. The fish caught in the video is the perfect size for cooking. My favorite is to bake it with a light coat of olive oil and a light sprinkle of garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper then put a small pat of butter. Bake at 400F till the meat starts to show it's cooked through( a white thick gel) Then turn on the broiler to high and give it a light brown on top. Then a good dose of fresh lemon juice.
AWESOME video!

I'll have to try Pompano now- my co-worker told me about it. The only difference(s) I would do is try it whole (no head or guts)- also why do people eat frozen veggies? You can blanch some broccoli, then bake, grill, or bbq it for a phenomenal flavor! It's tastes better and retains more nutrients. Great video all in all though, that cream sauce looks delicious.

Nice video and a very nice pomp. If you ever want to try it a hair different try pink Himalayan salt and try avocado oil instead of olive oil. Taste a little different and has a way higher smoke point then olive oil.

Ive had many fish, and the African Pompano is definitely one of the tastiest. Caught a 30 pounder in Bermuda and was served sushi and baked stuffed for our wedding dinner with company

These are my favorite fish! You dont have to fillet the fish though. Just cut it in half and throw them in a deep fryer. Since Im an expert chopsticks user I always get 100% of the meat!

landsharkfishing dude i just made this recipe and holy cow, it was amazing! I used green beans instead of broccoli but other than that it was all the same. Great one dude!

The Chinese consider the Pompano to be a class fish. It is usually steamed with scallion, julienne ginger, cilentro and seasoned with salt, pepper and light soya sauce.
