Two weeks and you would be back. and there won't be permit like that day! You might see a couple, but that permit party is a few days and be lucky if you find it. That's why they make a close season about this time. just like with lobters!

I'm glad to here you talk about keeping permit, I've asked several peeps about eating them( it being a super pomp and all) but most try and avoid the subject. I would think they would taste wonderful eating nothing but crabs and shrimp

No reason to throw the fish off bridge like that. Likely dead. Why not just keep it if your going to not use the net to release. Just a bad look
