My buddy Brandon also known as lunchboxfishingcaptainbrandon invited brook and I to go fish for some deep water porgys and snapper. He said this time of year they school up and spawn. We caught a ton of fish species such as blackfin snapper, jolthead porgy, knobbed porgy, red porgy, silver porgy, yelloweye snapper, vermillion snapper, lane snapper and many others. We used chicken rigs with cut bonito and squid for bait with 3/0 Mustad circle hooks and 60l leader. Follow Brandon on

Victor,
My mantra regarding fish that have large bloodlines or are traditionally considered to be fishy tasting is very simple. Milk, milk, milk! Simply marinate in regular milk or buttermilk. I personally use regular milk with lemon juice and it basically becomes buttermilk. Try it. And maybe do a CCC using this method.

Hey man! Love your stuff. I am headed down to siesta key Florida to kayak fish past the breakers and inner coastal. But mostly of the beach for sharks and past the breakers with the kayaks. Any suggestions tips you can give me on this time of the year or anything in general. Thanks brother!

Looks delish! Next time you make the avocado cream sauce, can you include it? And the tortillas wouldve been fun to watch for sure! Keep up the amazing recipes you too, constantly inspiring us to make new things in the kitchen.

I would keep the porgy meat separate from the snapper. I made ceviche out of these porgy's and you could taste the iodine. I caught them out of Jupiter inlet.

Victor, appreciate the work you put in all your videos. Any recommendations on charters/captains out of Hallouver marina? or Ft Lauderdale?

You should have used that little octopus that the porgy spit up, To put back on a hook and drop it back down and catch another one. lol

Vic home made flour tortilla is the best. The ones in the bag don't taste the same. My wife makes them every other day for our kids.
