GIANT Alaskan Halibut. Catch Clean Cook Rob: Some of the best sportfishing there is. Such a thrill. The story about the commercial fisherman in Alaska catching a 400 pounder while out solo, not killing it before he got it in the boat, and then it thrashing so hard that it killed him will stick in my mind until I catch one myself.

I love the Alaska environment beauty. Plus I dont tolerate hot and humid weather so I think the climate may be for me. It seems they have wonderful fishing, good hunting, but wont know if I can handle all the snow and cold till I try it. I understand salmon fishing is epic there. As well as clams, Dungeness crabs and spotted prawns. People do say things are expensive because things have to be flown or driven in. Best bet is to live off the land, many utilize logs with personalized sawmills for a variety of construction. The growing season is short and canning is important skill to learn. Many people living off the grid have their own livestock of chickens, and other meat animals. It may be a bit of a challenge trying it at age 65 with disabilities. I have never owned a riffle, but it seems Moose is a favorite wild game for those who live there.

Man I on another video in Alaska, they had to literally shoot with a Glock, a barn door 100lb halibut, because of safety concerns.

How do the big halibut compare to those groupers under the docks? So happy for you and Brooke to check off some new species.
