Did something similar to this out of port canaveral about a month ago. Was able to pull 3 keepers off the sharks and only lost one to the tax man. The sharks were chummed up while bottom fishing and the cobia came with. I treated it as combat fishing with a big spinning reel spooled with 65 lb braid and 80 lb flouro leader on lock down drag. Used a tsunami swim shad in pearl to get a reaction strike as close the surface as possible and would horse them in a fast as possible, even boat flipped a couple. I figured I would take the risk of not getting a strike with bigger tackle than having to play them out and loss them to the sharks. Just my 2 cents and maybe I just got lucky, who knows. Love the videos.

I once caught a Cobia that was 31 inches, just short of keeper size. However, it was being chased by a bull shark and nearly took out all my lines as it went past. It ate a shrimp I had floating in the water and the shark seemed to just disappear after that. Weirdly enough, that was the only catch of the day, I think it may have also been the only fish I saw that day.

I caught my very first Cobia at the sand pile in Sewell. I was trying to get it to the boat. Another cobia was with it and my hubby Threw a live bait and wrapped his line around mine. He did manage to get his bait off my line. Took me forever to get that cobia in the boat. My sister in law n her hubby thought we were crazy. Lol 37 1/2 pound cobia.

Victor you know a lot about fishing no doubt but they have something new out it's a magnet when you cook a fish you throw this magnet which slides down your line and no shock will come near it I suggest you try it I've watched videos where I work great The magma keeps the shocks absolutely away from your fish food for thought

Dont take this as me trying to tell you guys what to do. It is just an idea i had. Maybe you could bring fish scraps (shark sized) along with you and when you have a good one on the hook throw some scraps out for the sharks, maybe even some chicken or pork or something cheap to stir the shark away from your main catch?

Why did the videos showing the Zeppelin Magnetic Shark Deterrent stop? The videos I see show the Zeppelin being deployed after a hook-up by dropping it down the line where it hangs about 3' past the hook. From what I saw, the sharks leave the fish alone once the magnetic fields are encountered.

Cool you got one, I don't care for the meat, stringy to me. They cruise around our boat all the time when were grouper/bottom fishing here off coast of NC. I feed them squid! Fun the watch cruise around!

Mahi that size are delicious. I used to cook blackened Mahi at a restaurant on the NC Outerbanks. Small Mahi filets were the bomb. Would sell out every night
