Making your topwater lure move side to side or give it the walk the dog action can be hard to master. Watch Forrest Wood Cup Champion Scott Martin show you his simple How to topwater fishing tip that will show you how to work the lure properly. Topwater lures are great lures for big bass and give explosive and addictive strikes. Topwater lures catch fish year around but the Spring, Summer and Fall can be the best

I have such a hard time with this- I would say this is the most difficult thing I've encountered fishing so far. I'm sure I'll get it eventually but, I need to f ind some baits that walk easy to get me started- any suggestions? Several ppl have recommend the bully-wa II- they say the keel on bottom makes it easier to walk- but I don't have one yet. I have a kopper's live target, a spro poppin shad, and a booyah toad runner. Just picked up a nice jerk bait to, which sort of needs this same action under the water if I understand correctly- so I need to learn this skill. Tell you guys what- if anyone can give me some pointer that lead to my succes I'll send you a Jointed thunder stick by spro- the big tiger striped model- soemone gave it to me and I live in the southeatern US, no musky or pike around here. I wonder if a bass might hit it.

I have no idea how a right handed person can walk the dog with a right handed reel, my left hand can't coordinate with my right well enough to make this work, ugh. I can do it all day with a left handed reel which if you think about it is the correct side the handle should be on.
