Motherboard CPU support lists for OEM CPUs are often quite unreliable; I remember getting an Athlon 300GE for a build recently, and almost no mobo vendors listed it as compatible with their boards (except for a few very high-end boards), but it worked just fine with the board I got (which, again, did not list support for it). I wish the manufacturers would provide more comprehensive and accurate support lists, because it can be a bit of a stab in the dark.

This looks like it's going to have a massive effect on the GPU shortage for e-sports gamers and other low budget builds, while still providing a CPU that's more than fast enough to feed literally any dedicated GPU on the market once one can get their hands on such a mythical creature. Forsure do a dedicated memory overclocking special with this chip. Its one of the biggest selling points of these for the enthusiast market. Theres a good minority of memory overclocking diehards who will love tinkering with these and will want to know exactly how they compare to the 4000 series APUs.

They didn't want to implement Navi in 5000 APUs because they didn't want the guys who bought a system in 2018 or 2019 (with chipset 400 and 500) taking advantage of a big leap like this in APUs without having to change its systems to DDR5 on Ryzen 7000 for that, so they can make some money. xD

Wow, here I've been complaining that the Vega 7 GPU is way too small, and yet the best Intel iGPU still sucks in comparison.
Clearly there was no need to push RDNA2 onto these chips.
Nonetheless I still eagerly await a nice beefy RDNA2 APU to replace my old home-built AIO.

I just assembled my Asrock x300 mini PC with a 4650G R5
PRO 6 core 12 threaded APU. Unfortunately, alibaba gave me a Chinese mickey mouse power cord, so I had to send for an American and it came via Amazon just today. I am currently cloning drives.

if you are testing win 11 and happened to find the issue that Linus had with installing it without a Vm do this:
make a bootable win 10 usb, then take the install.wim from the win 11 iso and put it in the usb replacing the old one

Loved the review but I think there may be some value in showing some low end cards above the 5600G (1660 super, 2060, etc.) to see how much of a difference there is between a proper gpu and this. Just a thought, good review!

Please test the new APUs with a variety of memory
Ryzens with APUs might be even more sensitive to bandwidth or latency than those that lack APUs.
Also, is 32GB dual rank even more beneficial for these new APUs?
