Honestly i think and or get the Feeling that since some Companys for sure did and do suffer from Corona Impacts that some and or many also take Advantage of the Situation in Generell. I mean two Things here
First, in Generell everything got more expensive from what i have seen and or heard. And i dont mean just PC Parts. Or Electronics. No. Literally everything. Its like the whole World got at least 50% more Expensive. Again, a few Times its for sure Explained reasonable but i get the Feeling we Consumers as a whole got just BS more and more.
And the Second Thing is Like If they dont make Things more Expensive then they seem to work around the Problems. Like taking worse Components that seem to not hit the Targeting Specs anymore. Again because of Corona. Because its hard to get something at all And again i am sure sometimes thats true but i get the Feeling that again this might get used as an not Honest Statement that they will use if they get caught right now.
Since both my Mentions are indeed a Thing they will not get hit with too much Trouble right now. I think. Lawyer will push it one Way or the other but eight now i think all Companys can rely on Courts to get not as bad (if at all) Penaltys. Some or Many Companys would and or could have been Bankrupt by now if they would have to have waited for some Components for sure. But again i get the Feeling that some Companys are using the whole Situation now too so they make even more Money (or at least more than other Companys. If A makes 50% Loose and B only 25% then the B Company is still viewed better).
One Way or another I am really glad that i bought an PC (DIY) 2 Years ago and i dont have to worry about bad Products for now. Because i think there are sooooo many bad Products out there right now its not even close.

tiny bit more cash can get you a 750w corsair or something. I would personally weigh up if i really needed 850W, if its a yes i would wait another few weeks and buy something decent. Long run it will pay to do that. Nothing wrong with this product though if advertised correctly it seems decent if thats what someone is going for. Personally as someone who pays the electric bill i would rather pay a tiny bit more and shy away. If i was living with parents or something i would probably get it though.
Fingers crossed this company learns from this and becomes one of the budget goto ones. They don't seem like a bad company at all. Just new to the game and had a shady slip up. Even the big company's have had slip ups far worse. (not saying that justifies it). I wish them luck and success though more competition is good for everyone.

The worst power supply I ever had to deal with was the 440v being supplied to our weapon system, it turned out it was varying from 380v to over 500v. Yes we burned a few expensive components before finally convincing our command that it was the generator down in the engine room. =) In order to log the voltage we had one of a kind device installed on 440V input line, and it would log it and we could download and convert to spreadsheat, to which we emailed our command and CC'd the maker of the one of a kind device. They were a life saver. Then I suggested we put device on other system to see what it would read. Sure enough that one was fine because it ran off different generator.

It would not take much of a design change Steve to affect the efficiency in the range seen here. Just the primary MOSFETs, or secondary rectifiers alone would be enough. Thing is there are literally thousands of MOSFET types that would work well in that particular application, so in a situation of semiconductor shortages (which does show up a lot in power semiconductors) I'd give them a pass for substituting a slightly inferior part, but keeping the product available and cheap. Some bogus UL-certified chargers could literally kill someone - this is a minor misdemeanor in comparison. Thank you again for being super thorough!

Between the SSDs, and the number of devices ending like these power supplies, I think this is really just the general population discovering how often products are revised and changed without them knowing.
It's very common for them to go oh we can't get this component for this run? Let's use this other supposedly identical / compatible component.
And if the specs all match everything shouldn't change so you don't retest everything.
Except sometimes component manufacturers lie.
And by sometimes, I mean almost all of them in China.
Yes even the big ones.
Yes them too.

love these PSU videos, they are great in many ways
as for PSU's to test i think something like the cougar gx f750, since it was a bit cheap compared to others for what it supposedly is but still realistic i think (i am looking at the prices here in russia btw) and cougar is a company that seems to be good but i kinda dont trust them as much for no real reason lol, or something along the lines of thunderx3 plexus no idea what they are but they appeared suddenly in the market and definetly dont seem trustworthy xD

I am curious about the psu I got from Neweegg with a RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra... the Part Number: 210-GQ-0750-V1 Part Desc: EVGA 750 GQ, 80+ GOLD 750W, Semi Modular, EVGA ECO. What concerns me about this psu is that the retail price has dropped to 79 from 129.... and I am seeing random black screens w/re-booting even at times not under load. I thought it was possibly my rural power company possibly not keeping up with growth in the area... but now I wonder if the psu is possibly bad due to the fire sale pricing?

850W white label power supply should not find place in any build IMO
There is no cheap desktop computer that needs that much power
Taking in to account 3080Ti system draws 550W at most, medium systems take 450W and entry level gaming needs no more than 400W is more than enough...
Producers instead of pumping watts should work on making future models smaller or fanless, it's not even efficient having oversized power supply

I have heard allegations in the past that some 80 Plus Certification tests are done in unrealistic test environments like very low ambient temperatures to ensure that they can reach the certification rating that wouldn't be achievable in an actual case. Perhaps this is what happened with the certification on this situation? Is there any way consumers can actually review the test conditions?
