Just a fun video we shot back in early March. This video features the then-unreleased Intel i9-10900K and an extreme OC attempt to 7GHz -- it wasn't easy. We used the opportunity to learn a lot from HiCookie of Pro OC fame at Gigabyte about how to overclock the Intel Core i9-10900K CPU (using a Gigabyte board, of course). The overclocking looks at PLL Termination voltage, Vcore, VCCSA, VCCIO, and a few others, all while under liquid nitrogen cooling. This gives a primer to some of the basics of extreme overclocking with the Intel i9-10900K, although it absolutely is not a how to overclock the 10900K guide for non-extreme use cases. Do not use these voltages on your CPU unless it's under LN2 and you know what you're doing!

It is crazy how far civilisation has developed in regards to material sciences in the past 200 years! You're using a direct open flame on a very thing piece of silicon and still passing electricity through the silicon, and it STILL WORKS! This is insane! And this isn't even the peak of material science's. This truly is a completely new world in which we live in to any people of the past, we are facing challenges never imagined in the past.

Steve really likes to get round the hardcore overclockers. All it takes is the promise of records with them showing off their massive LN tanks and he s yours. Then you have the devoted Buildzoid sitting at home waiting up for Steve to return, playing with his memory timings, Roman waiting for the call to meet up again, keeping busy by deliding a few CPUs while the player Oden sits back, thinking you knew what this was as he puffs on LN2.

I must have been to China about a dozen times or more over the last eleven years. Face masks have been a permanent feature of life for mainland Chinese, Taiwanese and East Asian people, especially in cities, for a lot longer than I ve been going. The fact that HiCookie is wearing a face mask here in this video would, under any other circumstances, be an entirely unremarkable occurrence.

Given you're running standard benchmarks like Cinebench, I'd be interested to know how often details of new CPUs get leaked when they are uploaded online via those tools? Do you have to be super careful not to be connected to Wifi? If reviewers and manufacturers are getting a hold of these CPUs months in advance, surely people are bound to slip up?

I reckon Hicookie didn't had much to do for the AMD products, I have the Aorus extreme, a 800 euro board for my 3900X and It does not live up to expectation, with lower scores in cinebench and overal lower clockspeeds.. In addition to that, their software is not working properly and is bloated with toolbars and antivirus I don't want.

He sure was a little disapointed to not be able to run with the gpu, he must have prepared every little thing before you came in, and then, shit happens. ahah He had to tell his collegues that the gpu failed even after all the preparation. I don't understand the language, I just imagined that.

7:20 Steve contemplates watching the cherry blossom in Taipei instead troubleshooting with Hi Cookie, who is increasingly becoming embarrassed with the situation ;-) Would certainly have been chiller without the Gigabyte PR staff in the background ;-) Hey, it ended with a world record! :-)
