As much as you like to say certain products shouldn't exist now, it's getting old watching your videos. I like the data you show, but maybe you should keep some of your opinions to yourself.
When the 3800XT and 3600XT take their price cuts when Zen 3 comes out, and they WILL, if you've followed AMD for the last 20 years, are you going to go back and re-edit all these videos where you dumped on a product saying they shouldn't exist?? After all, they will then be close enough to performance gains over parts like the 3600 and 3700X matching the price difference. So then what are you going to say, ALL AMD Zen 2 parts shouldn't exist?? Or just every single AMD 8 core because you can't figure out why their Zen 2 8 core 3700X is their 2nd best selling Zen 2 CPU?
BTW, the XT line of CPUs are the BEST you can put onto an AM4 300 series MB, so when they take their price breaks, not only will they be a product that SHOULD exist, they'll be a product that turns a MB made back in 2017, the same time as the 7700K came out, into a MB that competes with Intel 10th gen. That's a HELL of an investment for that MB. Pair up an X370 with a 3800XT and 3800MHz memory if you can run it on an X370, and a next gen GPU from either AMD or Nvidia and you have a gaming system that's getting close to Intel 9th gen territory, as has been shown in roundabout ways. Since you refuse to give the same treatment to the 3800XT as you did the 3600XT because of your prejudice against 8 core AMD CPUs, it's hard to say exactly and I don't think anyone else has tested the 3600XT or 380XT with 1:1:1 ratio with 3800MHz memory and OCd to an all-core of 4.6GHz. They've only done the all-core OC to 4.6GHz.

Like is it any wonder why so many kids buy AMD cpu's to build their gaming rigs these days? Several times in this video he mentioned workloads, productivity tasks as the advantages for AMD making it a better all around CPU while repeatedly referring to Intel chips are strictly gaming focused. I think the review process is fair but the language is sort of misleading people with ZERO intentions of using their computers for production applications into building gaming rigs with AMD processors. Which is fine if you are looking for a budget build but if you are not using your computer for production applications on a REGULAR basis it just doesn't make sense to buy AMD.

I'm still rocking a i7-3770k 4.7GHz (bought new back in 2012). Nearly everything has been upgraded in this machine since then EXCEPT the CPU, memory (32GB 1800MHz), and case (Antec P280). This machine has gone through more graphics cards, hdds/ssds, and even motherboards than it has any right to, but now it's more or less stabilized on a RX 580, Samsung 970 Pro, and a 7x2TB + 256 GB SSD cache setup. I named this machine Goliath when I built it and that name has served it well. The only reason I'm hankering for an upgrade now is that 4 cores just doesn't cut it for compiling and rendering. Thankfully most of my compile workloads are in the 1 - 10 minute range, but if they ever hit 30 minutes or more then it's definitely time to eyeball something like a 3700x.

Why run with 4 sticks even though the perf would not be that much better 2x8GB is plenty for gaming and the speeds would be at least 2400.. Sometimes I wonder how GN thinks. In such a comparasions all I would like to see is the stock perf, max tweaked perf vs stock and max tweaked perf of more common mainstream skus, like 3600, 3700 i5 and maybe i7 with some older zen/+ skus. And why even show results with the crappy i5 using 2666 sticks. No sane person would go for a b/h boards as they often cost as much as the more cheaper z490 boards which allows for high speed ram.

4670k owner here since 2013, which I OCed to 4.3 GHz from the day I bought it. Some of the games I play nowadays makes it hit 100% usage instantly to the point I can't even run discord in the background. Thought about getting a 4770k to squeeze out another year or two on my aging Z87 platform, but like you said they still go for 120+...makes no sense to buy one.
Ill just suffer for a few more months until Zen 3 comes out later this year.

This comparison is exactly what I've been looking for, as I am currently in the process of planning my next rig. I've been rocking an OCd i7 4790k for almost 5 years now, only upgrading the GPU from time to time. I absolutely love this cpu, and will remember it fondly after the planned upgrade. Well... when I say planned, I mean I'm waiting for the release of the next gen nvidia cards and amd cpus, but mostly waiting for nvidia :p

I'm running a 4790k with a 4.7 GHz 1.25vcore overclock on 1600MHz ram. I seem to perform worse in every benchmark but I think its because of how long I've been running my current Windows install. I may also have a power supply or MB issue as my computer is turning itself back on after shutting down (have confirmed its not an OS issue...) forcing me to do a forced power off every time I shut it down.

Thank you again for this. I think I'm going to wait until DDR5 is a thing and by then new CPUs are out and might get more than double my current performance, closer to maybe triple

I had an i5 4440, paired with a 980 and 32 GB of DDR3. I looked for a long, long time for a 4770, 4770k, 4790, or 4790k, but the pricing was absolute crap. Then I realized that the Xeon E3 haswell CPU's were available, worked on my board, and I grabbed an E3 1280 V3, along with a Noctua CPU cooler, and am now happy to use this machine for a few more years. :D

Then I realized that the Xeon E3 haswell CPU's were available, worked on my board, and I grabbed an E3 1280 V3, along with a Noctua CPU cooler, and am now happy to use this machine for a few more years. :D

I went from a 4670K at 4.2GHz to a 8700K at 4.8GHz... Almost doubled my frame rates in some games.
Seeing as my 8700K overclocked pretty much matches a stock 10600K I am all good for another 2 years of gaming on this build, not to mention that I just switched to a Kingston A2000 1TB NVME for game storage.
This my be the longest I have had a CPU for.
