Sponsor: Thermaltake TR100 mini-ITX Travel Case on Amazon https://geni.us/Yn9DXb This special episode of HW News features a collection of show floor reports on the ground at Computex, closing out the remainder of our (non-interview, non-special-feature) coverage. We talk about our upcoming tour around all of Taiwan to visit different computer recycling places, stores, second hand shops, and more. We also cover AI sucking up all the storage, potentially creating shortages in the future between AI use cases and data centers for more 'traditional' storage use. Further, NVIDIA's AI obsession dominates 98% of its keynote from Computex 2025 (and we recap the NVIDIA keynote announcements). be quiet! has new liquid coolers, Arctic has its first case in years, MSI responds to ASUS' Apex with the new MPOWER, and more.

Not even harddrives or SSD's. At this point what do we have Even the PC cases are going to get ridiculously expensive. AMD going AI CPU's. GPU's being vram starved. Drivers unusable. Motherboards since AM5 being ridiculously expensive for 7segmant diagnostic display. PSU's burning up due to NV fire connector. The only thing we have left is advancements in fans, water loops, air towers.
What is the point of following the hardware news. It is all AI AI AI. Hike up the prices on HDD's and SSD's Then hike up the cloud storage too! Win win win! At this point everything in tech I got is going into service/longevity mode. Phone is planned to last 5-8 years. Laptop going to be made to solider on for a extra unplanned 4 years. Desktop going to stay Zen3 non-x3d. RDNA4 GPU going to be power limited down under 300W. Haddrives cleaned up to save on data space, and going offline to save flying hours on the spindle. Every machine going Linux to eek out as much from older hardware...
I hope that I can manage to snag some blackfirday deals on SSD's in a few months. Best would be if all this AI stuff simply popped.

i have thought of a REAL AI use for gpus. imagine an AI chip separate from the GPU chip itself, included on all 60series cards and next AMD series of cards. imagine this AI is ONLY for one purpose, not for anything to do with graphics. introducing the 'npc AI npu'. it eliminates all the need for game devs to program basic AI such as walking around, running, making choices who to shoot, making smalltalk out of combat. all the devs have to do is link their code to the npu for when the npc opens fire, takes cover, what they say in their smalltalk and what other actions they need such as climbing anims, jumping, and they can still do their own anims if the npu ones are not what they want (it will be mainly bipedal sentients and small pet animals or raccoons etc. not for four legged npc aliens for example.
there, something useful for gamers and devs that AI should do, not fake the game graphics. i been playing the division 2 and it looks a little sharper and plays better i found than some of the games that need dlss to run at decent speed...

Why do none of the cases with multiple radiator mounting locations EVER account for radiators in every spot They shouldn't be advertising them as having so many radiator mounting spots if they can't all be simultaneously used. It's completely unnecessary to use that many fans just for airflow, too, seeing as you could use fewer fans with higher speeds.
Finding any cases that support radiators in all spots at the same time, including while having spacing for fittings while also still having room for a pump and reservoir, is next to impossible. A few will claim they can, but ultimately end up not being able to. Such garbage designs that border of false advertising. You'll also notice all these garbage cases are displayed with some garbage AIO. What's the point of so many radiator mounting locations if they're only meant for an AIO Those should ALWAYS be mounted to the top, so why would there be a spot anywhere else

Yes, Nvidia is not a video game card maker anymore. Welcome to 2015. A.I. is their focus.
Yes power demand is skyrocketing for A.I.
Maybe remember that the next time you hear someone say Trump doesnt know what he is doing yet he Executive Ordered allowing A.I. related tech companies to either build their own power plants or partner with energy companies to build plants next to the A.I centers they are about to build. All told, the current projects are set to increase American energy production by over 300% already over the next 10 years.
Because of the EOs, states red tape cannot slow the projects down by years and ground can be broken right after getting the land.
Also loved how In Win's mini-cube has room for 4 extra storage drives yet the large cases is riddled with fans and no room at all for any expansion...the tech world has lost its damn mind.

I know English isn't his first language, but Jensen Huang has terrible communication skills. His inability to self deflate makes his attempts at humor fall completely flat. His egomaniacal perspective lacks empathy, which is required to deliver humorous quips.
His company makes good GPU's anyways.
Gamers would love to rub it in his face, but sadly buying a Radeon or Intel GPU is masochistic & self defeating & Jensen Huang knows this. All I can do is wait to buy my next Nvidia GPU instead of upgrading every generation, & target a lower margin product. The reality of it is that there's more demand than supply at the end of the day, mainly because of the limits of TSMC's supply...

Even Used HDD's Are Up Over 70%! A 12TB Drive That I Bought Refurbished From Water Panther Back 2 Years Ago For $112 US Is Now $170 US! I Am Glad I Bought 3 12TB And 3 14TB During The Dip! So I Have Plenty Of Storage For Now!! I Also Bought 6 NVME Drives Of The 1TB Flavor 4 Are Sabrent Rocket 4 And 2 Are WD Black! They Have Gone Up Over Their Sale Price By Over 50% So I Wont Need More Storage Until We Move Away From Silicone Towards A Faster Storage Medium!
I Have Been Building Furniture Grade PC Cases To Mount My Hardware In! Since I Am A Carpenter By Trade! I Got The Idea From LTT Years Back!

I'm excited for that MPower mATX board. Only 2 RAM slots instead of 4 is a plus in my book. My guess is 85% of consumers do not need 4 RAM slots and it's easier on the memory controller. I'd also guess the same consumers _never_ use the _extra_ PCIe GPU slot for anything. Really the mATX motherboards should be called the ATX, because they're standard they have all the necessary features and connections and nothing extra. An mATX is what majority of consumers need and should use.
If a person is actually needing that extra PCIe slot are they really a consumer, or are they then a prosumer

On the Be Quiet coolers (21:23) - that looks like it would be amazing for small system integrators that want to do custom branding. Printing on to plastic sheets is already a solved problem, you can do it at home with a laser printer and printable sheets for the old-school style overhead projectors. Presumably a business would be able to get those much cheaper than home users can, and a printed cap means there's a lot less that can go wrong (lower support costs) than with a screen. Don't need to pre-load software, etc.

so the light base pedestal is a nice idea. but the same time, all the front i/o will be in the center of the top. not a great placement. if you have a pc, thats also a showpiece, you have it on your desk (or in my case, elevated above my desk on a shelf on the wall). so the i/o needs to be in a more convenient place. top facing i/o is something that works with cases that are on the floor or on a pedestal thats on the floor. pcs without glass, where looks is not important.

English is not my native language, but I believe the phrase RTX 50 series just had its most successful launch ever doesn't mean most successful BVidia GPU lineup launch ever, but a most successful 50-series launch, which then can be interpreted as well, there was only one lineup in 50 series, no crap it's the most successful (and the worst, and the average, you name it) or... that it's the 5060 that's the most successful out of all, which would again be marketing BS
reply

Damn...is it just me or is it somewhat painful to listen to Jensen talk It's like he has an aura that goes up in level with his ego maxed out that gives people a headache. On a side note...the whole nothing gives me more joy than when you buy everything from Nvidia that can be taken 2 ways...either A. he is happy and he is conveying that... or B. maybe a slight hint of annoyance or desperation to try to keep people hypnotized by their green logo.
reply

I'm pretty positive that the 5060 is the most successful launch and will be the most successful card in all surveys - simply because it will be the default for every Dell, HP, Lenovo, Walmart and whatever-OEM PC around the globe again. Doesn't mean it's great, doesn't mean everyone wants it, it means nVidia owns the OEM market anyway, and you can just add the default customer who only knows nVidia good, AMD dRiVeR pRoBlEmS to that.
reply

As much as I hate NVidia's love for all things AI and disregard for gamers if you take a took at the market it makes sense. The USA is pushing for AI dominance in the world which means trillions of dollars spent on what Nvidia hopes is their tech to make that happen. Compared to your single GPU in your single PC system it is literally pennies.

as a chinese myself, yes many chinese like jensen even they dont know technology, they simply have them as idol, as if those ppl also chinese make them proud, same as mainland china ppl proud huawei product, while taiwanese often proud of tsmc, but of course not all have mindset like that, at least me dont have any of those idol, for me they all suck
reply

is it just me or does anyone care about DLLS or RayTracing
Sure they make scene rendering more beautifull and easier,
But I just want to play my games.
and the fact that 5060 is such a low tier device that they are trying to upsell ...
I am running two AMD cards, with 8 times the vram that 5060 has and it works absolutely amazingly.

I wish cases with expansion bays were still available. I still get a fair bit of use out of my Blu-Ray drive, but my case is too large for my room and it's impossible to find a replacement that all of my hardware can fit into. The only one I've been able to find is about 60% of the size and won't fit any GPU made in the last 7 years.
reply

the new addition on the BeQuiet! cases would be far more appealing if it also had the RGB strips in it. I'm already a fan of their 600/900 lightbase cases and I don't mind a case being bigger for the sake of more practicality, and maybe you can fit a few 3.5 drives in the base I can't be the only one who still uses 3.5 drives
reply

Be Quiet! I prefer u focus on recycled material for the future of our humanity. Rather avoid using wood and materials hard to recycle. If wood is recycled products then do it, should be interesting. I believe we should make recycled products premium, which is very possible with current technology.

seeing all the boring case layouts, guine question - why is no manufacturer making a vertical case with gpu placed either above or below the motherboard, oriented in line with the motherboard it would help with weight distribution, gpu sag and would save a lot of horizontal space
reply

Be Quiet1: Love the case being adjustable to be on its side vs a towerr, think the lighting accents look far better in that config then the tower. Very interesting design choice. A dedicated pump/res mounting point might b in order especially with the side config.
