Station - One App to Rule Them All - Chris Titus Tech In this video, I go over a productivity tool that combines all your social media and email into one application. Station is very similar to rambox but with a different layout, more apps, and a cleaner interface

You know, it's strange to me. I remember in the late 2000s there was a -push- to include social media into email clients. And then email clients started becoming less numerous (at least outside of the corporate environment). These sorts of programs seem to now be moving in the opposite direction - from multiple online web sites to one conjoined program to manage all of them in one.
Reminds me of the chat clients. Some of which could even combine chats between different hosts - meaning you could be sending and receiving from other people even though they were on different chat servers incompatible with one another. I thought that was pretty neat. Not that I think these things should do it to stuff like Twitter + Mastadon, but it does seem as if it's an old idea being resuscitated.

UPDATE: OK let me update you on my usage of Station and Rambox on windows 10 and Manjaro Linux:
-since both are Chrome Based they act like chrome
-each added app uses RAM like new Browser like Chrome Browser
-CPU Usage is as high as using normal browser yet higher
Was complaining about Firefox latest 6 updates that s using much of CPU and RAM
looks they've fix the CPU issue, but since these apps are using loads of RAM and CPU much more then
a Browser with 100+ Opened Tabs I am thinking of dropping em.
Don't Use em if you have less then 8GB of RAM and not using SSD as main Drive
I understand Chris you need to do those videos just hope you don't remove my comment it's as feedback.

Many people complain about ram, but for all these kinds programs, the only one that is complete free and doesn't have so many problems (i only see one, that is copy and paste), i want some features, but here on my pc doesn't see many lag. Okay, my pc is lag at all, if my pc run cool and i will try this program and cause lag, i will come here and talk.
I want for trully, Stacks, but is only available for mac at less. Maybe in sumer of 2021 the maker say that will be complete! If i have to spend a little of my ram (or a lot!), the function for me, is working. A app (or a browser) that always show social medias. You can download a browser lite and make tabs too, but i don't know if is the same thing

Proprietary Garbage. I'll have a look at your rambox video though.
Edit: I looked at Rambox too. While the program they run is open source and better in my eyes, they still collect (and store, and aggregate for business purposes) a great deal of your personal data. Including and unifying all your social media, emails, work, personal, etc all linked to one person, you. That's a crazy valuable amount of data for anyone to have. You should be segregating and consolidating your personal information, not bagging it all up and handing it over to someone. This is actually pretty crazy, for the sake of some convenience.

Not really impressed here Chris.
Both Station and Rambox clogs all CPU, goes black screen constantly, disappears but keep using all CPU. Station reports constantly that -We can't load XXX...-. Try reloading and program just disappears but - again - doesn't release CPU load.
Productivity tool? Oh well. I've been able to do very few things since I fell for Rambox. Then took up Station which might be better. No hit buddy. This seems more like antiproductivity.

Interesting. I'm a long time Tab abuser in my Firefox. This actually looks like a viable alternative. Thanks for sharing. Do you have an app whereby several systems can be monitored like HDs, Memory, network utilization and maybe system update messages? I have about 5 systems that I have to toggle thru and check and my systems will be growing so it would be most helpful to have some sort of tool for managing multiple systems at a glance.

I was just about to try out Station as replacement for Rambox, but since the video, they have made a switch into developing a browser extension instead of a desktop application. Instant turn-off, I specifically try to get away from all the browser -apps- since 5-10 browser windows with 10-50 tabs each already clutter up my multiple workspaces due to my work. Guess I'll check out Ferdi instead

Could you possibly add another 1.2 million uses of the phrase -go ahead- in your next video? I have just about got over the absolute irritation at your incessant use of these words, but I figure if you just keep saying it over and over I will become anesthetized to it, and it won't be so damned annoying anymore....LMAO

Hey -Chris Titus Tech Really enjoy your content, thank you! I must mention something Ive noticed in several of the most recent videos theres a delay or desync not sure if its my pc or connection, or if its something on your end, the audio seems to go faster than the video, hope you can address this, thank you!

You can just download more RAM and use a browser.
Now seriously, I tried using Rambox and Rambox Pro after your last video, but I would always gravitate back to the browser. As if my lack of productivity comes from laziness and tendency to procrastinate and no Rambox or Station can help with that.
