My favorite flavor of 20.04 is the one where wildcards work when you're trying to install or remove things (and not replace it with some convoluted workaround like apt-patterns), like for example if you want to get rid of all libreoffice packages you can simply run the -apt remove libreoffice-- command just like that, and it will remove all packages that start with the phrase -libreoffice- on your system and wildcards like - are interpreted exactly how you think they would be

I'm new to Linux. Just left windows because its slowing down pretty bad. Ubuntu on the other hand was hard st first especially installing apps and I've never used a terminal to install anything so its new but I love it at the sametime and its so lightening fast. Now sjncebive received some ota updates everything looking smooth sailing... This a new journey for me.

I think I'm gonna try ubuntu again. I haven't tried it since 18, I believe. I'm undecided on which flavor I like the look of the most but I'm thinking kubuntu but the icons in ubuntu are slick af. I'm currently playing around with Puppy X-Slacko 4.4 on a usb stick but I can't get the system time to work correctly, so I might try something else.

so the flavors use different desktops. do any of them allow dragging and dropping files from a file explorer window to the desktop or dragging a file into a folder on the desktop? the current version of gnome does not and it's the most frustrating and annoying thing

Unfortunately, ubuntu 20.04 suffers from some bugs such as copy-paste in desktop or in libreoffice. When mutter package is fixed it will be great. Till then I suggest cinnamon Desktop Enviroment or stay in 18.04.

I don't know why Ubuntu Budgie said on it's system requirements that it needs 60 GB of hard disk space. It makes no sense to me. Even windows 10 doesn't need 60 GB of hard disk space, as far I know.

You forgot to mention that also Ubuntu MATE now has a Ambiant-MATE-dark theme - which is still green-ish but it looks better than many other dark themes out there.

i just realize if you install the minimal-install in ubuntu flagship it takes years. You install the full version and they remove packet by packet.
Dang!

Here I am thinking why they called these distros as Ubuntu MATE and Ubuntu Budgie, they might have called those as MUBUNTU and BUBUNTU. Isn-t that great? ---
