not everything has to be Microsoft Product or a pay wall you got to pay for
everything you use every 30 days really that is just plain greedy if you think if it
it has nothing to do with many making bootlegs if software at all , someone dreamed up the idea , lets make everyone pay to use all software now !!!! you know its true and this was a master plain of all company's doing this not all at once , did you know that lets say you payed for a software and it was a lifetime once time fee and free updates and it was yours
and many put so much time into 3d programs from software to even 3d models and now
your program you turn it on and you cant use what you payed for now it is blocked and they are making you buy that 3d program all over again , and you cant use any 3d model from the other version you use to use forcing you to buy it again , many are not useing any high end 3d programs any more why pay to use them from $ 30 to a grand and higher ...yea Hollywood can
everyone is jumping on blender 3d it is the best and last great software
but if your paying happy paying to use software and there pay walls , dot be a fool
use gimp or krita and daz studio and blender and many other free programs
forget pay software in the long run , open source software is the best, really all you need is Microsoft pc and remove all the other junk Microsoft has on the pc and use open source software and you don't need Photoshop they have many free open source software is the way to go , and yes you can fire up all your older PC off of line and use your older cd software
with out going on the net you don't need to be online to use the cds you did go to the stores and you did buy ,

Interesting. I bought a computer from a retailer with installed Windows 10 and Office. After 6 months Microsoft demanded activation for Windows and Office. The retailer was no longer in business and could not be contacted. Amazon sent me an offer of cheap activation keys which I purchased. My OS is now activated but the Office key was refused by Microsoft. The Amazon seller sent a replacement key that appears to work, but time will tell. I assume from your video that my purchase is not legitimate and there will be issues down the line. Surprised Amazon advertises and supports shady purchases.

Chris, love the videos. Do you have any recommendations for small volume licensing for a small business. The use case is basically that I run a number of linux boxes & laptops for day to day work, but on those odd occasions that I need to do something in windows (e.g. 'proper' office) I boot a virtualbox VM. All the machines have associated windows licences that they where bought with, so I think i'm techincally covered, but I can't activate the windows using those license as they are all ready tied to the bare metal machines. Any ideas? Keep the vids coming.

I forgot to mention in the video, but sometime -shady- key websites buy legit single use product keys with stolen credit cards / gift cards as well. Then they deactivate after the charge back happens several months later. There is just so many ways product keys can get deactivated / activated it is hard to cover all the angles. Fun fact: Earlier in the year Microsoft's activation server was on the fritz and I had a bunch of LEGIT keys become deactivated for a day.

The EU Supreme Court has ruled that it's perfectly legal to resell unused software keys, based on the -principle of exhaustion-, which states that a copyright owner's right to control copies of their work -exhausts- on its first sale by the copyright owner. So it's not -disgruntled IT employees- who sell the excess keys, it's part of company policy; they are simply assets that can be sold. Thus, in Europe, there is a legal market of second-hand activation keys.

i paid 11 eruo for a key , after 30+ years of just downloading it ,
i paid 11 euro TOO MUCH
this OS should be FREE for everyone
if they are going to keep messing up every update , it should be free
30+ years and it still is a piece of junk that gives you a headache each half of the year
these people can't figure out how to make a descent OS with a 1 and a 0
that's all it is : 1 here , 0 there
and they still mess it up ...

Linux has come a long way, with various graphical user interfaces. I hope that this free, open-source effort keeps up, and improvements and ease of use continues. Ideally, one day the switch from Windows to Linux will reach critical mass, and we will never, again, have to deal with Microsoft, bloatware and spyware.
And the final insult is that we pay Microsoft to take advantage of us; to spy on us, to make us jump through hoops.

MS blacklisted my laptop's embedded OEM key for god only knows what reason. However, to be fair to them, telephone activation support DID issue me with a brand new clean key so all was good.
...of course. All is even better now seeing as I'm Linux full-time nowadays and activation/licensing is a thing of the past. Seriously though guys. Don't pirate Windows. The OS is far from worth it. Just use Linux.

Dont buy windows from amazon or amy other retailer. There's a good chance that even legit keys will be deauthorised at some point and unless you can prove your purchase to microsoft they won't do squat to help you.
If you absolutely have to buy windows, buy it from MS directly so they can't snake their way out of reactivating it later or better yet, don't give them your money.

It is far more beter to go to a shady website and get Windows- activated for free for only half a year then to buy an activation code. Because when you pay for the activation you are a part of the problem, your money went to those who keep this alive. Think of all the problems the users of Windows have, only BECAUSE there is money involved to clear the problems.
