using 4-core Intel i5 8th gen and 8 GB of ram Laptop,
it works fine if you just run a couple of linux vms with it and want to have completely separate workspaces,
But I would also recommend using a better system to have the full experience of full virtualisation
As a Software Developer , I love the concept of qubes os in general,
it allows me to create workspaces for different kind of projects.
Do I have to do some High-Level-Programming, I have a workspace for that
Do I want to write some network based scripts , I have a workspace for that
Do I need a blank area to test stuff out? DisposableVM here I come

Useless review, dislike tbh. People skip watching this and go watch a real review.
Its a wonderful os, go play on yo Minecraft server ya-old fart.
This project is amazingly engineered and super underfunded compared to any popular open-source project thats soo useful and has been around for this long.
This review is at most an anti advert as you couldn-t be arsed to do minimal amount of research.
Imo William Gates should outbuy them and make windows great again. Windows-3 imagine that. Imo this could become the greatest os ever with some $$$.

isn't this the security mantra that it's just -not easy-? Security and privacy are verbs, right? it's a deliberate act thinking about your security and privacy. Not saying that Qubes goes all the way and is just too far fetched for a regular desktop user. The question is always in return for security and privacy, how much convenience are you willing to sacrifice. I sure don't mind work and personal files being mixed on the same system but then again I'm not working for the federal government, or some police cybersecurity task force

Did you ever revisit Qubes in another video going over software installation? I have a fully functional install on a X240. I-ve run Linux machines for over a decade. I managed to get Signal installed inside a Qube, and managed to get it running, but after I shut down the VM it reverted to the default state? Am I supposed to install apps to the template OS and add them to the Qubes?
Edit: YES, that is what I was supposed to do! I-m starting to get it now.

Cubes is 100% useless... It's impossible to even open a thumb drive on this piece of garbage... Which is too bad because cubes could easily delete Microsoft... but if the developers don't get with the program and make their product user-friendly it's just going to crash and burn like all the rest of the pieces of s--- that have been foisted Upon Us by these imbeciles... you have a lot of work to do with cubes and you really oughta get on it

only reason why this whole OS confuses me is bc it's fedora which I know nothing about. I'll just stick to arch bc sadly that is all I know. started with manjaro, than went to endeavoros, than went to pure arch. even tho I switch between pure and endeavoros depending how I feel. rather stick with endeavoros tho so prolly will end up being my main. but nice video on this

Currently running W10, and Ubuntu, dual-boot, fully encrypted partitions and successfully installed Qubes on a fast USB drive. But one of my PCs does not recognize the Qubes USB anymore and I think it's because it doesn't let me boot from legacy. Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why you say they went over board. If you don't care about the security that Qubes offers, there are LOADS of other OSs to choose from. Qubes is aimed at people who seriously care about security, where security is a primary consideration, not a secondary or lower after thought.

I've seen couple other videos abour qubes os and it seem that os that hogs most of resources is windows, as for everything else it depends how many os's you want to run simutaneously. On budget computer i'd go windows + linux distro or 2 or 3 distros but no windows.

I just purchased a Gigabyte BRIX GB-BRI7H-10710 to attempt to install Qubes OS. I didn't realize how lost I am till I watched this video. I think the install goes fine because I have a base desktop. But where I go from there the video has me lost.
