Doom Eternal on Linux - How to Setup and Game Performance This video goes over the configuration you need to do to get Doom Eternal working on your system. This was released last week and I found many of the guides online not sufficient so I made this video

It seems that many of the issues people were having with D:E were related to a driver bug.
According to ProtonDB AMD and nVidia users are fine to use Proton 5.0.7 (5.0.8 now) as long as their drivers and MESA/Vulkan are up to date.
I wish I had this game because I love to see how much of a difference FSYNC kernels make.
I also saw some people with 4.9 kernels having issues. Not to be a snob, but y no luv for 5.6? Get all those cool new features and optimisations! linux-fsync in the AUR is tracking the 5.6 kernel with about 0.0.1 lag.

Chris, very nice video. I have a question, what Recording Software did you use? I tested the game on my Linux (Endeavour/Archlinux/i5-8600k + 16GB + 1060 6GB) on a screen UltraWide, and the game runs very well at High graphics settings. But, on recording, there is a large drop in performance, even setting the graphics to medium. I used OBS, SimpleScreenRecorder and Voko, but for the three, I can not get a good performance in the game while recording. Thank you!

Good afternoon Chris,
If you don-t mind I would like to reach out to you for any suggestions. I just reimagined my laptop to Mint 19.3. I need to install the CAC software in order to receive my DOD email while I work from home during this time. The DOD drivers are for WIN10 and 7 in addition to MAC....I know this is not the correct way to reach out to you but I could not find an email. Do you know of any DOD CAC drivers for Linux?
Sincerely
Jim

And that's what stops me from switching to linux. I have watched so many of your videos because I wanted to get crappy Windows 10 out of my computer and by watching this video I realised I really don't want to search every linux forum to get a solution how do I get Windows apps and games up and running on linux machine. Guess I need to stick with spyware/bloatware called Windows.

This game is asking to be played in 1440P or 4K 60+ FPS, preferably 120. If you have access to an nvidia GPU2070 super and above; please re-do this video. while this is playable as is; low to medium settings, just doesn't do this justice.

Dude, I think you have some problem with your mic or something, whenever you finish talking there's a lil' speaking sound which is so annoying so, I can't watch this on my earphones, so I watched this without one.. please fix it.
