Chrome OS is a Un-Appreciated Masterpiece - Chris Titus Tech First Time I used Chrome OS and so many people have this operating system wrong! It does far more than you'd expect terrence: I liked the video but you should do a follow up of this video or maybe never have posted it. How many things did you say about chrome os that had 0 to do with Linux? I daily drive a Chromebook. I am a developer. I chose this OS for it's speed, simplicity and the fact that I have access to 3 (stock Linux too) operating systems to get most of everything I need done. I appreciate the effort however, this video became a video about a singular feature of chrome os. It would've been great to hear about the productivity features of chrome os like the tote or connected devices, quick and frequent updates, quick reboots, etc. I love the Linux features too. I literally wouldn't have switched to the OS without that one feature BUT I've learned from switching that chrome os is so much more than one feature.

Why cannot Chrome OS do all things which requires Linux without a VM ?
On other hand, with macOS, Linux and Windows u can install Chrome and get away with VM running on machine.
Better get Linux laptop, which won't cost u much compared to WINDOWS or mac. Thanks to zero license fees.
ChromeOS isn't self sufficient that's my main concern.
Android apps are on sorry state, where I have to revert to web counterparts. Like Gmail. My Chromebook duet is still stuck on Android 9. And web versions of Gmail and youtube are still better than Android versions.
With just - 3 to 4 apps open, chromebook starts lagging, defeating the purpose of ChromeOS. ChromeOS was supposed to run well on low powered hardware, but it seems it still needs power as regular Linux and Windows laptops need.

my chromebook works like a poo
ryzen 3 3rd gen + 4gb ddr4 + 128gb ssd is not enough for smooth working of such a light simple OS (or maybe os just suckz)
maximizing 1080p video switching between tabs looks like a heavy task for my chromebook
i do not recomend this type laptops for anything
only plus is battery life (maybe just cuz of ryzen3 and good battery idk)
i have ryzen 3 windows laptop also which works smoother and 10000 times more functional
i think ChromeOS is not for end users yet, its like a pre alpha trash from indi devs
even ubuntu looks better like a laptop os
maybe after couple years it will be something usable like macos but for the moment end of 2021 its trash

Let me know when you can use strictly local accounts, disable _all_ -telemetry- and can remove any apps that you want. Until then, Chrome OS is nothing but crippled Google spyware.
I don't see why you even have Chrome OS on that system since you're running Arch in a VM. Why not just strip Chrome OS out and run Arch on bare metal?

Many hundred or even thousand of my students that are going to take an English certification like TOEFL have Chromebooks just to learn that the software that must be installed is only windows or MacOS compatible.
It will be a masterpiece only until after everything works on it.

The one thing I loved about chrome OS is I got my laptop stolen a few months back when out to the shops bought another one logged in and basically kept going with out a hitch and there cheap but still nice enough that they don't look like a 200 dollar windows POS -

That's the problem. Nobody knows about it. Add Linux to it and wow, you've got a fantastic machine! So easy, fast and simple. I'm using a new Asus Chromebox 4 with Intel Core i7-10510U, 16GB RAM, M.2 PCIE 256GB SSD Storage.

the problem is look at those hardware google offer, worst than apple, you pay huge money for some kiddy hardware i mean real kiddy hardware, like 32gb of storage Lol, that why no one have the opportunity to try it

So it is missing audio? And then you talk about running Linux rather than ChromeOS. Look, buddy, that's the same shitty clickbait video title as so many Youtubers. Thumbs down, not subscribing.
