I bought Wondershare Recoverit software and Yes at first it appears that most of the information has been recovered until I tried to open them and found that apart from the titles, non of the contents inside were able to be read. in other words, NO data was recovered. So it was a waste of time.

I replaced my 1TB HDD with a new faster 1TB HDD because the old one failed all i want to do is recover the data on the HDD that failed and transfer it to my new HDD but so far nothing seems to work unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for HDD recovery.

A good software. It tried to retrieve as much as the good files in my hard disk, and managed to detect how many bad sectors in my hard disk, unfortunately most of the files that i'd like to recover isnt there anymore. Probably most are in the bad sectors. -

Just wont power on- it is an external hard drive that is about 12 years old now, and last year it wouldn't connect anymore.
It has led lights to display power- they blink but then they stop, and it won't show up on any computer

What if the problem is the connector located inside the SSD?
The SSD often detected and often not detected from BIOS, the data still there. Can I use adapter instead of caddy to connect the SSD to my laptop?

I tried recovering from a hd that had more than 400 GB data. I connected it through USB port. Recoverit detects the drive. But why is that upon scanning RecvoerIt shows only 6 files with total size of 400 MB?

Not quite sure I'm understanding you. Iif you have a bad hard drive how are you going to boot the computer to be able to use the operating system to download the recovery software?
