I have a 128gb SanDisk flash drive and that is write protected and I've done all of the steps, to my best ability. solution 2 doesn't work, because I don't have a security tab in properties, tried solution 3 as well but when you pull up disk details it shows read-only is set to no, but current read-only state is set to yes. solution 4 didn't work as the only file in storage is, (default) REG_SZ.

Hey.. I tried all steps but still it's showing write protected.
While I run below command
chkdsk /f G:
being an elevated user, got the below message:
The type of the file system is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.
Request your further help to get my pen drive formatted. I hope you will revert with your suggestion, thank you!

I have tried all your methods, plus several others from other users and none of them work. It was fine 2 days ago and then yesterday this Write Protection appears? What the hell could've happened? I can't even format it, I can't do anything. Do you have any other ideas I can try? Please let me know! Thanks for your video.

In solution 4, After going to the file location you mentioned, only default is visible. there is no write protection option there.
what is the solution for it?

This was very helpful... I needed to go all the way to step 4 to solution and highly likely without this tutorial that I would have resolved this.

hi quick question: for Solution #3, in typing -attributes disk clear readonly- , that will not delete any of the files on the usb, right?
reply

Every method here is useless on a fat32 formatted device. Fat32 is required across different platforms from android to digital cameras.

Okay I tried them all. Either the options that were supposed to be there didn't appear or the methods just didn't work. AAAAARRRGGGHHH
