How to Use Recovery Vault to Protect Files with Disk Drill 4 (Windows) - CleverFiles In this video tutorial, we'd like to show you how to protect a drive from future data loss with Recovery Vault. What Is Recovery Vault? Recovery Vault is a background service proprietary to Disk Drill that monitors all of the drives to which you give it access, keeping track of all metadata for those files. Why Should I Use Recovery Vault? During the scanning process of a drive, Disk Drill uses the metadata it collected from that drive to aid in the process of data recovery, making it much quicker and more efficient. Files can be recovered fully with Disk Drill Basic (free edition) if the drive in question has been protected with Recovery Vault in advance. To enable protection, take the following steps: 1. Open Disk Drill 4 and navigate to the Data Protection tab on the left side of the window. 2. To enable Recovery Vault on an external drive, connect it to your computer, if you have not already, and select it from the list by clicking the drop down menu at the top of the screen. 3. Click the switch to the -On- position to enable protection. At this point, you-re done :)

Sounds like great development. I have installed, but not fully used, but I can see from this video, that it looks like good customer service and help. My reason initially was for a 128gb Silicon Power flash drive; normally the internal LED will flash as it is recognized, and then go out. Currently, on insertion it illuminates, then just stays on, and Win10 does not recognize it. I have taken it apart and looked carefully and there are no apparent solder or burn issues, so I think it has a component issue, and on that, without real access to the drive, cannot use DD. However, I have added it to my bag of tricks for later use. Well done video. Suggestion: put a link to your website in the description of the vid.
