How to Calculate P-Value in Google Sheets! - TechJunkie
video description
From Wikipedia:
In null hypothesis significance testing, the p-value[note 1] is the probability of obtaining test results at least as extreme as the results actually observed, under the assumption that the null hypothesis is correct.[2][3] A very small p-value means that such an extreme observed outcome would be very unlikely under the null hypothesis. Reporting p-values of statistical tests is common practice in academic publications of many quantitative fields. Since the precise meaning of p-value is hard to grasp, misuse is widespread and has been a major topic in metascience.[4][5]
Also from Wikipedia:
The t-test is any statistical hypothesis test in which the test statistic follows a Students t-distribution under the null hypothesis.-
A t-test is the most commonly applied when the test statistic would follow a normal distribution if the value of a scaling term in the test statistic were known. When the scaling term is unknown and is replaced by an estimate based on the data, the test statistics (under certain conditions) follow a Students t distribution. The t-test can be used, for example, to determine if the means of two sets of data are significantly different from each other.
