The One Year Anniversary of the Death of Terry Davis DistroTube Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of Terry A. Davis, the creator of TempleOS. He was a very interesting and colorful person who was very popular in the tech community due to his uncontrollable outbursts on web forums and social media. Terry suffered from schizophrenia and was homeless for a time. I wanted to make this video as a tribute to Terry and to highlight the need for more funding and research into mental illness. This vid kinda missed the fact that he, all by himself, created that OS as well as the 2D and 3D graphics and animations from scratch and all the while he also created those mini games and other programs therein using a modified C language which he created on his own. We're not even talking about the religious references in the OS, as well as his knowledge of music theory for the music composer program he created. Oh, and he also wrote the compiler for these programs. All in the span of 8 years.
For extra context he had a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a master's degree in electrical engineering, and commented how electrical engineering was higher than computer science (something to that effect). Some members of his family also seemed to be quite familiar with computers and his older brother commented about some of the memories with Terry in the 80s regarding computing and electronics on an LTT video about TempleOS.
And he called himself the smartest programmer who ever lived.

I still cry a lil bit thinking about how Terry is no longer with us. Mental illness or not, a lot of people can relate to him, whether it was the things he said, did with technology, opinions on big tech corporations and their unnecessary control over the products purchased by end users/consumers. RIP King Terry. Also, thank you sir for making a serious video bringing this amazing individual to folks' attention and the issues surrounding mental illness and such.

Gnu never finished the kernel, Terry finished everything or at least got everything in working order, he did what neither stallman nor Linus did, a complete system
Would have won prizes and awards had he been in academia, from the multiple innovations he did
He shared his tech know how, great guy, great accomplishments, under appreciated
He gave great interviews, he shared his knowledge, very generous funny guy

As Terry would say -F-- U- mainly cause I doubt you have ever built up a program with a compiler and everything else from scratch with a 3D blender of sprites in a text based program everything all in 2MB. He might have been one of the smartest programmers alive. Had he worked with others or upgraded technology he would have change quite a few platforms all over again.

He crushed the bird confirming his fall into dementia. He represents his own words and actions... Do not consider them as a representation of Christianity. He is most impressionable on the youth and that mockery will extend to all Christians as a result.
-Don't be a Terry Davis-

You can get IP banned on 4chan quite easily actually. When I was 15 and on vacation I tried to post on /b/ looking for weed to buy while in Colorado. Was 10 years ago, but I remember like yesterday the slow poke meme I uploaded with the post. That was back when mods actually did their job.

I'm pretty sure he's the only person on Earth who has created both a compiler and an operating system. He's a huge influence on me. His coding streams are pure gold.

Very strange how Terry died considering God does not accept people who committed suicide into heaven, and Terry would know that. I don't believe the train story.
reply

I can't believe it's already been three years since the bioluminescent sub-saharans from the central intelligence agency took him out with their train.
reply

He may have been a colorful person but he hated persons of color. Hopefully his scitz was the cause of that. Shame god told him to lay down on the rail
