Great video!! I personally have been using TreeComp for over a decade, it's free, portable version included so no install needed. The UI is simple but not as pretty, but it works amazingly well with minimal fuss, and I have micro control over the changes in either direction. A few minutes of playing around with TreeComp and I figured it out and I use it for all my file syncs. As an alternative there is also the free open source FreeFileSync as well which is prettier and has portable version as part of the installer as well.

At 6:00 the propagation rules set whether the syncing will delete files in the target folder to exactly -mirror- the source. Unchecking the -prop. deletions- box will keep everything previously copied to the target, so it will gradually grow in size versus the source, very useful as a backup to Downloads for example. Basic file syncing setting option for about twenty years. Duh.

I want to use this for web development
Question: Does it work FTP & SFTP?
Question: Can you specify directories on the FTP site that you do not want synchronized? Often there are 20,000 files in different sub directories that are worthless after a few minutes or an hour and I don't want those directories synchronized.
