If you need to change the MAC (Hardware) address of a virtual machine in VirtualBox, then it is very easy to do via the command line. The VM needs to be powered off and if you have more than one NIC, you will need to change the syntax of the command to reflect the adapter you want to change.
Here is the command that you can modify to suit your environment.
vboxmanage modifyvm VM Name macaddress1 0800271b22d8
