Hi, I have a question about privacy and cookies.
Usually, whenever I get asked about cookies by a website, I go into the settings and disable everything I can. However I also use Firefox Focus alot which doesn't save cookies and makes me click through cookie options over and over again. What I'm wondering now is whether there will be any harm done to my privacy when I simply consent to all the cookies in Focus since they won't be saved anyway. Is that correct or am I getting it wrong?
Love your videos by the way, they taught me alot about privacy and security on my phone

Kinda off topic but does anyone know a linux alternative for ShareX's recording functionality? Haven't found a direct alternative on alternativeto. net or anything on the web
ShareX allows me to press one button, choose an area, record that area using ffmpeg, then press the same button to save it in a location and copy to clipboard. A different shortcut allows me to instantly record system audio and copy it to clipboard as well. It's really fast. Do you think one could replicate all of this with a self made script?

That last step, cleaning up the footprint is a real slog. A lot of websites don't offer an easy delete account option and so you have to contact the admins, likely from an old unused email address too which adds extra pain. I've even butted up against some that I just plain can't get into because I can't for the life of me remember the passwords for old email addresses, and young me was somewhat security minded so all the secret questions look like this: Guess my password! Bet you can't, loser: D

Great video. I deleted many apps. I no longer use FB messenger either, only FB (private account with not many personal details or many friends/connections. I stopped using Google Calendar also and went back to using a day planner to write in, along with address/phone book and stopped using a Notes app also on my phone. It's a few steps that are more freeing for me to eliminate what grew to dependency on my phone after growing up and some of my adult years without one at all (I'm a Gen X'r)

Apps can fingerprint users based on the number of apps they have installed on the device. So keeping it constant and minimal will not help with privacy. Some bastard has recently made this fingerprinting tech open source on the Android side. So expect all kinds of apps tracking the user in such extreme manners.

Android phones need to be de-googled which means a LineageOS customized phone, which I did to a Motorola Moto G7Plus that got off eBay brand new for $140 - had to install LineageOS, which alas is rather involved process; am thinking of a Kickstarter for offering LineageOS phones already configured

I just need two things for my digital privacy to be complete:
1) An EU/UK alternative for privacy(dot)com
2) A good alternative to YT, that is friendly to both the viewer and creator. No, PeerTube is not a good alternative.

Minimalism is the best thing I ever did in my personal life. My work unfortunately requires more computers than I like to have, but at least everything else is as simple as can be. The steps in here are things I strive for.

I never really care to minimalism until I got hacked. But besides that one great thing that minimalism did for me is to boost the performance of all my stuff. Less stuff running and working, the hardware gets faster.
