Hello, thank you for all of your tutorials! Do you (or anyone who has a similar situation) have advice for my 1660 ti and especially how to work around the limitations of my motherboard?
I'm running a MSI GF65 thin 10sdr which does not allow you to change fan speeds or temperature. The only values I can change (at my level, which is enough to kill my computer but not enough to understand fully why) are cclock and mclock in MSI Afterburner. I am prevented from changing power settings or fan settings. I have the following set up in the batch file per your video on clocking using the batch.
Batch file settings: --cclock 160, --mclock 750, --intensity 25, and I added --keep-gpu-busy. I can't lock my cclock for reasons I'll explain below. (I have tried reducing the clocking to as low as 100 and 500 and the temp and power consumption stay the same but the hashrate drops to like 23mh/s so I figured I might as well go with the higher numbers.)
Where it's clocking now it has a hashrate of 27.17, but the T is at 79/80 degrees, and power is at 79/80w. I don't have rejected shares yet but I do see breaks in the t-rex miner, Not sure if the blue etash epoch block calculations are always supposed to have 4 or 5 before showing the hashrate and temp and all that, but there are times where only one blue line appears, and others where there are none. I started pretty recently, so know that info isn't always reliable. But I want to see if I can get the temps lower so I don't melt my laptop. :)
I have a Cometlake Halo I7-10750h cpu 2600mhz, 1660 ti GPU, upgraded 32GB mem, 1.5tb SDD,
Have you run in to a motherboard that doesn't allow for power and fan adjustments? MSI Bios Information: Bios Vendor: American Megatrends, Core Version: 5.17 Compliancy: UEFI 2.7; PI 1.6, MSI 16W1 5.11 x64, Rev. 1.0) the Bios version is: E16W1IMS.50B EC: E16W1EMS2.102
I'm wondering if I can get around it to make the hashrate stay the same but bring down the temps a bunch.
Things I've done: changed bios settings where it seemed safe and recommended by you and others. Right now I'm only using T-rex miner with codes you provided based on my MSI afterburner calculations, which is where I got the above numbers. I have used throttlestop but right now the gpu seems to be running cooler without it. I believe the fan and power controls are completely locked with this motherboard, if you know how to change that let me know! (I'm saying that so much because searches about this lead to a lot of people thinking you haven't properly changed settings in bios or whatever. I know there are more complex settings, but again I am not qualified to touch those without assistance. lol)
I appreciate your thoughts and any advice you or others can give!

didnt work putting mem clock at -502 first, then i put it to +1200, it crashed, but when i reopened t-rex and afterburner again it worked! i bet nobody in the world knows why. remember to set the power limit. 65% seems great here - Takes me from 120 to 80w at the cost of 0,5MH/s. that doesnt make much sense either. Can we really trust these readings in t-rex?

I got stable 29.15 mh/s with mobile 1660 Ti (Clevo NH50RC)
On power saving mode consumes 60W (Edit: GPU consumes 60W. i can't measure notebook. I dont have any measurement tool.)
Core: +283
Memory: +943
Gonna try m2 rise with external 300W psu.

Hey Seb, i have find a problem with a 1660 super SAMSUNG memory...
it is totally unstable, it heats up much more than the others. after an hour of use, the crash is guaranteed.
Do you have any idea about this type of memory? Thank you

Seb, once again an extremely useful video. I have 6 1660 Supers that I finally started playing with the Afterburner settings. After your advice I raised my rate from 21.6 to 31.4. Amazing. Thank you!
