Every machine i've ever moved to Linux has performed superiorly in Linux, even with proton and Lutris. It's actually insane the difference in stability and the power increase... Plus obviously Windows is impossible to program on, with 1,000 loopholes to setup a vm, setup docker, nano, and even compile your software, which is the main reason I use Linux, need that terminal (besides the fact that I haven't used Windows since Vista)
The most astonishing one though was this little Toshiba Laptop, 15 inch, 4gb of ram, and it was one of those AMD APUs, I believe E6000, but I'm not sure. It was of course on the AMDGPU mesa drivers, and everything was absolutely insanely better, whereas i'd have to run games in below HD before, now I was running them at 1080p medium settings.
Then my 8800 GT, worked great.
Now my R9 290 and RTX 2080, i've never used the RTX card on windows, but I did run some benches against the R9 290, and the difference is astounding, not only that, but I haven't looked into this situation but the Overclock would crash at like 1200 mhz, on linux with the AMDGPU drivers, which have to be enabled by recompiling the kernel with parameters in grub, now it's up to 1950 mhz, everything is perfectly stable... Not sure what role windows plays in that but idk...

1) Reboot at updates is necessary for Xubuntu. 2) Puzzle pirates works better on Windows than Linux. I expect that also for -Albion online-. 3) I keep my taskbar limited of launchers. I made a bat file to activate multiple launchers at once at Windows, Steam included for example. 4) I had a game on Wine but FPS was way to low. With Wine, you can have luck that your favorite program works, and bad luck that it doesn't work after a year or so. I have some games at my Linux but Windows would be my main one. The graphic performances are getting better on Linux and that's expressed by the popularity of Steam (OS), combined with multiplatform support. I use Linux for multimedia.

I've been using Linux Mint for a few years now but to be honest. I haven't really tinkered much at all or learned a whole lot about it.
As far as gaming goes. I use a PS4 for most of that but I would like to use my Linux machine for everything. I do play a game on it from time to time but it's usually a game that has Linux support though I have tried Proton with varying results. PS4 has just been the path of least resistance.
I've never been able to get a controller to work on Steam with Linux. How much time would it take to learn enough about gaming on Linux to get my games set up to play?

''No Telemetry, Background Updates, 10+ Launchers in tray''... non-sense. The telemetry can be stopped using a program, the background updates can be stopped, and who the heck has 10+ launchers in tray? Do you play 10 games at the same time? Looks like this is what Linux users tell themselves to feel good about gaming on Linux. Keep drinking the Linux cool-aid.

the anti cheat problem is the biggest con holding linux back, i love linux, sadly im about to reinstall windows... i want to play DayZ, i want to play pubg, arma, the games work fine, the anti cheat screws them over, and we heard they are working on this by steam, but we have heard nothing about it since and its been almost a year now

Those are not the only two cons. You mentioned potential performance perks for linux in terms of stability, but failed to mention that running non linux games (i.e. the vast majority of popular games) through a compatibility layer like Wine or Proton comes with a noticeable performance impact.

Only bad thing in linux, at least the ubuntu versions is that I just can't install drivers properly. All the command typing thing just pisses me off, if I could at least get the driver installed i wouldn't mind typing all the shit (sudo -blah blah) ... but it always fails to download the drivers.

Cons:-
The games you mentioned, PUBG and Fortnite,Destiy 2 - Guild Wars 2 - Anthem, you just disappointed over 10 million gamers because Linux doesnt support the most popular games out there right now.
This isn't a small con, this is a complete utter deal breaker

I dual boot (off bios) with Mint on a dedicated ssd since Jan. 2020. I guess it was a resolution. Anyhow steam had about 1 out of 4 of my games there. Meaning out of the box ready to go without tweeks proton or wine.
