People hoped the lack of raytracing in navi would bring prices back to some kind of sanity. Instead it basically costs the same without it. $450 for the blower card means AIB 5700XTs will cost the same as AIB RTX2070s. and at that point you're picking between maybe 5% more performance on average or RTX. On its own the price of RTX is bad, a card without it at the same performance and price is definitely worse no matter if you care about raytracing as a feature or not. How do they explain costing the same when they don't have that same additional hardware acceleration that nvidia does? What we're seeing is AMD helping Nvidia to move the mid range price tier up by like 80% and a complete lack of real competition in the market. This is a 40 CU 570/580 replacement costing as much as vega, performing only like 15-20% better than vega 2 years later. that's actually awful. They pulled the exact same crap as nvidia except they don't even have the excuse of -hardware raytracing is expensive-

I know what Really happen is. Nvidia held back on their top cards aka
2070 and 2080 and 2080ti and sold folks a capped off, cut down chips
cause their yield was crappy so they made the first wave of suckers pay
upfront the cost of full chips. They needed to buy time for the real
launch of the RTX. This would explain the reason why all the bad cards
that came out like the 2080ti that was affecting. Once they got their
crap together now we are seeing the real cards that suppose to be
launched a year ago. Nice move Nvidia! This also is the reason why the
speed was not as much better then the 10 series. RTX2060supper will now
be what it was meant to be at 370 bucks. I would not touch those first
gen RTX cards.

Since Nvidia already significanly outperforms Navi (2080 and 2080ti, Super is just to allow them to keep price points where they are by keeping performance of the 2060 and 2070 Supers ahead of the new Navi parts. It makes zero sense to keep selling non-Super parts after Super comes out, so they'll likely discontinue the regular parts (this protects the price points of the 16x0 parts as well. There will be zero reason to purchase a Navi part based on performance (or any AMD GPU other than maybe a 570 or 580, so the Navi launch will flop. AMD deserves to fail in this case - they went 100% full on greed with the Navi, and they're going to pay for it.

50: 16 If there are two cards to choose from to buy at the same price point and perform nearly the same you buy the one with more features. RTX is still the cards to buy above the $300 price point. Navi cards won't be that much faster and the RTX cards can be easily ovberclocked by anyone. It takes no real skill now. And I suspect by now if someone is paying over $300 for a video card they most likely know something about video cards and overclocking. Super is going to seal teh deal now so there is no argument. Wait to buy Super. Not Navi 5700. Waste of money to do so.

Nice stream. Too bad a lot of the live comments were just empty trash talk about Nvidia. The RTX cards are very good even if they had no RTX features. Why can't people realize that. Navi is not really exciting at all. It is better than previous AMD cards, a big maybe, but that is it. Where did the big love for AMD come from anyway? I was a supporter for 16 years buty that is because I was ignorant of how good Intel chips were the lasy 8 years. I bought into cheaper is better. Not really true most times.

Credibility is key, esp after that 3rd party Intel testing deal. You never know if somebody like Steve from Gamers Nexus will show up at your door asking questions. I do think its more AMDs interest to present lower benchmarks and play it safe. The whole scheduler being off and the other stuff with those benchmarks I think they are playing it safe. The one thing I do think wont be as good as people are hoping is the overclocking.

Im only slightly disappointed in the APUs cause I want that sort of -3600G- type part to exist. Imagine an APU that gives you both mid range CPU and mid range GPU in one package. I guess the hope was that chiplets and HBM might make this possible sooner. I kinda want to see the kinds of APUs on desktop that consoles get, where they're getting 8 cores and 40 CUs. it would just be neat.

Patience, we have no patience anymore. We spend months speculating, listening to leaks of speculation. You are setting yourself up for disappointment. The only thing the has been a guarantee for AMD is that it will be cheaper than Intel. I never expect it to be better but always cheaper. Now if its released and its cheaper and better than Intel, then I will be excited.

I like 1080p benchmarks, really thats something that everybody who buys the parts can replicate and expect the results. The other resolutions are nice but most people dont have them. For GPUS I do want to see the other resolutions. But 4k has its own list of hurdles. I mostly just like seeing the expensive GPUS brought to their knees haha

I never understood How people could go out and up grade every part in their PC just about every other Year and Never up grade their Monitor. These are the same people who have to have the Best CPU and GPU, and then they will play on a 10 to 15 year old monitor and be OK with that, Because -Steam say all People Use 1080-, SMH?
