A 9900k where i live north of the border is still 50$(40$usd) more then a 3900x. When both are on real good sales the amd is still even less money sooooo. Intel is just too greedy. At 1440p its just not worth getting less cores for more money for the same performance across aaa games. Now future proofing should not be said as anything can change, yet with the major consoles coming out driven by all amd chips, finally aaa games might have an amd advantage for a change. Once again amd value regardless of the intel 5. 3ghz which will need full custom cooling not to throttle after playing/working for some time. If the 9900k came down roughly 350$ to be below a 3700x/3800x then well the ball for most gamers i know might roll back over to intel if wanting what will shortly be last gen cpus. New amd 4000s coming, intel 10000s coming, general consensus around here is Intel fans will buy it regardless of thermals and inflated prices and people who just want value and performance regardless of brand will buy Amd.
Every pc store I frequent pushes amd now in desktop since the 3000s came out. Laptops might go amd also if enough models can come out to cover each price range.
Love the videos, keep up the amazing content!

i had a very nice audio card but driver support from the manufacturer wasn't Greta so been using my 5. 1 z5500 speakers and onboard sound for last 10 years while trying car every now and then, dx2 audio Asus I think. honestly in 1998 to mid 2000s eg 2008 the difference from motherboard audio especially expensive motherboard is so much better than back then it's something I don't consider anymore, but I now game on a projector from 2019 and all video and audio goes through a denin 2600 and is passedthought so yeh that's a big improvement with a acoustic 3010 Atmos setup. z5500 are still fantastic for their price but given them away now.

Prob with 9900k on benchmarks say myself i run Ark at 3860 x 1600 maxed settings with discord and web browser open and sometimes youtube! It uses 16 threads and pegged 11gigs vram and is off setting 14gb ram with vid card, for smooth game play vcard needs 22gb vram and you need atleast 12 cores with 24 threads and 32gb ram to run Ark at 4k maxed settings. This is all under UT4 engine! you are already needing more then 16 threads to run maxed setting smooth! Anyways ryzan9 will out run a 9900k in this becouse i have already had to do this!

I can relate with Alaina when she said Ryzen becoming a budget brand in 10 years would be sad. I feel the same today with Athlon. I still remember when Athlon was the best CPU, period. First to reach 1 Ghz, higher IPC than Pentium 3. -Athlon- actually means -champion- (so said an article about it, hence -triathlon-.
But, as Gordon said, eventually even Ryzen will be supplanted by a faster architecture (just as Core dethroned Athlon. Nostalgia -
PS. The cat-s meow is so cute and relaxing. -

OpenRA is a really cool open source remake of the c&c series including dune 2k, tiberian dawn, and red alert. They're working on tiberian sun. You can zoom in and out, works great with 4k, 1440p etc, and lots of tweaks including being able to select air units and air drops come from a direction you choose and many other features. Pretty cool if you enjoyed c&c but want modern features.
I'm excited to see the official remaster too. Looks like they will do the series justice.

Heres my problem with Tiger Lake - U on the time spy being locked to 3 GHz.
That allows more TDP / thermal headroom for the graphics, to be shown in the best possible light (more power, more thermal room to stretch its legs, but will not actually represent real-world performance. Because a real game will use 4-8 threads, plus the graphics. So this is really a best-case scenario. Sacrificing CPU watts for extra GPU watts to essentially game the benchmark.

No one runs a game like Ark without using VOIP and most people on pc have a browser open and youtube or music playing ect. So needing 32gb ram and more then 16 threads are already needed if you want it to run like silk at 4k max settings (also need more then 11gb vram to me looks like around 22gb vram is already need) If you do not believe just try to run ARK max settings and look at usage and this is UT4 engine it already uses all cores just fine!

As I have understood from the rumours. Intel Comet lake for desktop will not support PCIe gen 4 at all. Intel Rocket Lake for desktop. Will support PCIe gen 4 but only the lanes that are tied directly to the CPU will suport gen 4. They will add 4 lanes for storage directly from the CPU. The lanes that are tied to the chipset will only support PCIe gen 3. However the chipset will 8 lanes for communication not 4 as today

Comet Lake 10C at $69 design production cost x 4 = competitive profit to OEMS at $276. At x5 = economic profit to OEM at $345. Every penny any end buyer spends for 10C Comet Lake above $689. .. starting at $690 is calculated for the FTC and Intel will pay every dollar above $689 back to those end buyer. Leaks of $999 Intel does not fall for espionage anymore including within their own ranks. mb

bf2 was the bes. stoped playing after bf1 hate the way it's gone now and I don't trust ea. I even refuse games if they're on ea and have and kind of micrograms actions. first they destroyed command and conquer with 4 funnily battlefield 4 was last on I liked alot even if it took ea 6 moths to make it reasonably playable lol
