The people outraged by Nvidia for making gaming cards into non-mining cards, are clearly miners, even if they pretend not to be. They're desperately trying to shift the narrative to -Nvidia are taking functionality away from EVERYONE-, because if that narrative were to stick, it would do the most damage and put the most pressure on Nvidia to back down. I don't think it will stick though, since no non-mining gamers (which is most people) have zero reason to care if their card can mine or not.
Personally I 100% support Nvidia's efforts to segregate gaming and mining, providing it's a) not just marketing lip service, and b) doesn't hurt the gaming experience.

I think you guys are very on-point about the RTX 3060 and it's value proposition. I've been saying for quite a long time that each 30 series card released should have been the tier down (i. e. 3060 ti should have been 3060, etc.
Averaged out over time, the value to performance increase ratio is getting worse gen on gen.

You saw some msrp 3060 cards on newegg, but they were just for misdirection. they don't really exist lol. they will only make the expensive ones.
And if they did exist, the bot scalpers got them so they will never be purchased by a real, important person for msrp

-Gordon Ung don't forget that the laptop 3060 has more cores, which can explain its improved compute performance.
I don't remember the other mobile configurations off the top of my head but this one was mentioned today in a review i watched/read.

For that 3060 MSRP price I did build a complete PC in 2019 with a Ryzen3 2200G; 16 GB (3000 MHz); 512 GB nvme-SSD (3200/2300 MB/s); Asrock B450 HDV Rel 4. 0 and a new midi tower with a 600W iTech power supply. I reused two HDDs (500 + 1000 GB.

Mining is also REALLY bad for the environment, energy wise. That could (should) be another angle for the government to step on mining. Ethereum was supposed to transition to proof-of-stake (vs. proof-of-work) a while ago. Why didn't it already?

My dream car would be a real life Mach 5 that is a full electric. Go Speed Racer! Though I had always been partial to Racer X because my name starts with an X, and Racer X was always so mysterious.

Man the 3060 performance is a bit of a flop. It should have handily beaten the 2070 (non super) at least. The 3000 series line-up is a bit of a mess lol
They need to refresh the line-up.
