OMG! All these excuses from Gordon and beating around the bush. Just say it! The chip sucks! And we all know it. It's a huge disappointment compared to the Ryzen 5800X that came out November 4th of 2020. Basically, the new Intel chip sucks compared to a 5 month old Ryzen chip. And let's not forget that Intel was harping on and on about these 11th gen chips taking back the gaming crown from AMD. Well, not according to the Anandtech review. Everything else basically doesn't matter. At least that's what Intel kept on implying. It was all about gaming performance for their 11th gen chip. And that's because they knew their new chip would still suck in multi-threaded performance.

-Gordon, the problem with AVX-512 is that the GPU is more suitable for the same task. Whether the developer supports it for the GPU is a different matter but that is a software problem. Ultimately AVX is just more parallelism and that is where the GPU shines. Lower bitrate AVX still is useful for a CPU, the use of AVX-512 is highly debatable. If Linus Torvalds says that it is not that useful then it probabaly is not. I am fine with Intel pushing the envelope but I hope that we don't get weird artificial locking to AVX-512 only while the developer could also use the GPU which the user has.

-- 11700K Update: --
As a 11700K owner, -New bios- released from some motherboard manufacturers including mine, already fix a lot of problems, improve latency and performance a lot. Rocket Lake is not efficient, no, but it runs cooler than any previous 8-core CPU from AMD or Intel (exluding AVX-512 operations, which ordinery users would not use anyway, and can also be disabled from Bios) and if priced right it's a really good chip.
So yeah, this is what happens when you review an unreleased product. There is an obvious reason for a release date. Fixes, patches and optimization.

last time i looked you tuibe was too expensive it thinks its as good as netflix, it is not and never has been, the high cost is why i ddont invest in google. it owns the play styore and makes money there yet it forces so many adds through its you tube partner options that my you tube has become 10 subscriptions. now if you tube was 2-3 uk pouinds a month id pay it for add free instead of adblocking on all my devices. but not 11. 99 or 17. 99 for family, ithink that what it was.

ran XMP ever since its inception>> used xmp 2933/3200 on zen1 parts, 3200 on zen+ & 3200/3600 on zen2& now Zen3,
cant wait for DDR5/pci-e 5 & zen4.

- 26: 00, ID GO AMD ALL THEA WAY. Id buy another 5800X nd another 5600X if they were in stock and i had the money too.

I have to wonder if the shop had the CPU set to go live on the date intel gave them, then when intel pushed the date back the shop never updated there system with the later sale date.
or the later date never got to the shop via some mistake be it intel forgot or the guy at the shop was on holiday.

I'm dying to buy a new CPU. But this chip makes me embarrassed to be an Intel Fanboy. Now I have to go in hiding until at least Alder Lake can take the crown back, supposedly by the end of the year. Or swallow my pride and switch sides - the best option at the moment.
