Miskatonic: Tbh I don't get the Extreme Z690 at all. I have the Z690 Hero, which is already darn expensive (got it heavily discounted), and it has 90% of what the Extreme offers. I've compared specs for the whole lineup, and really can't see where are those extra 500 they ask for the Extreme, even the RGB is prettier in the Hero. ASUS Z690 Maximus range is super overpriced, the Hero used to be the entry board to the enthusiast range, and the price was more or less reasonable. I paid 200 for the Maximus X Hero and this year they're asking for 650 . Asus tax is getting absurd, really. Wish Gigabyte would improve their software and BIOS because their hardware is pretty solid. Date: 2022-03-24
