Hi, I just started playing with Apply Image in Ps 2022. I thought there was a way to generate a layer mask on the launch layer when using Apply Image (to use on another layer as a luminosity mask. I think I somehow did it once or twice. But now can't replicate that. I've tried launching into Apply Image from both the layer thumbnail and from my layer mask. But I'm not getting that full image halftone mask again. Is there a way to do it that I lucked into a few times and can't reproduce now? Thx!

I was stuck for a while when I changed the images to match size. I did match them but the changed image did not come up as a choice in apply image tool. I looked at the image mode and the changed image was CMYK 8 bit. I changed it to RGB 16 bit to match the applied image layer. Still no choice. It was only after I saved the changed image that it came up as a choice. Long way around but I found a couple of other items to consider.

Question: Hey Unmesh!
Once i heard there is more than one way than the shortcut control/J to make a copy of a layer. Thats not all. I heard too, that it makes a difference in the layer quality/layer properties, if you use another method. Do you know something about this informations?

When i apply image on the 2nd layer and check the mask box, the image kind of shows a transparent shadows over the image. I'm doing exactly the same shown on this video. Just wanted to know if there's any setting in PS cs6. Kindly assist.

The first thing that came to mind is what others have mentioned: the way you present things is so awesome! You're friendly, and you help me to not be intimidated by all this. And you're so good looking too.

Thanks mate for teaching these techniques and also explaining what happens when you do things in PS. Thanks for the tip on how blend modes are organised as Darken, Lighten and contrast.

This is terrific, all your videos are great. I would love if you broke down the math of it like you did with the Divide blend mode recently!

videos are always well done and well explained, but the sibilance echoing from all the reverb applied to the vocal signal is killing me.

Excellent video. To make it perfect, don't pronounce v as a w. Example: vertical, not wertical. Otherwise excellent video. thanks.

Hey so why would I use apply image instead of something else? Is apply image a better option or more efficient somehow?
