Cut Out Dark Hair from Dark Background in Photoshop!

Cut Out Dark Hair from Dark Background in Photoshop!

FBTwitterReddit

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
we will learn how to manually cut out beautiful hair no matter what the situation or the background conditions are. Using advanced hair brushes, we will learn how to actually paint back the hair edge, and then with other varieties of dense and open brushes, we will make the hair masking look natural and realistic. In addition to that, we will also paint actual hair to add more depth and volume

If your end result needs to be on delivered in a standard web format, you're stuck with 8bit. So for gradients, I suggest adding dither to the gradient to remove banding. It's a shame that you don't have the same control for the dither amount as you do in AfterEffects, but at least it's something to help banding. Because, unless I don't understand, if you see banding in 8 bit, then not in 16 bit, when you export for the web, you'll get your banding right back.

Great i know you've made a video about this in the past
Also I'd just like to mention there's almost always color cast from the background on the hair. The same color that we want to extract when masking out to the point sometimes we need to choose another image? Yeah.
It can be even more realistic to bring it back, but this time we can to it separately and always shift the hue unlike a flat image

If anyone in the comment section can help me out. I bought a new laptop i5 11generation. In photoshop we used to hold alt and take sample right. But now whenever I hold alt in this new laptop it shows cursor. I can't take any sample. It's okay for other things. I can use eye dropper tool. But if I use frequency separation. Than it will be an impossible job for me. Someone please help me out.

I've done every step you've done, to the letter, up to 04: 21 and my layers look totally different than what you've got here. I'm using PS2022 on a PC laptop. Should that make that much difference? Did I miss a step?
