we will also learn how to create a shallow depth-of-field effect and add background blur GKOALA7: Would you be able to import it into PS or AE and extract the frames as files to get more precise placement? With the method you showed it had some overlap of the skater which caused the desired effect to get lost and feel crowded. Using AE, for example, you can extract the frame sequence and use the skater's position(s) that you desire and you can more accurately place those selected frames onto a single image, which allows you to feel the action better and not feel crowded.
Extra Tip:
I would gradually reduce the opacity of the layers going from the front most (100%) to the back most (10% or so) to give it a sense of depth along with the blurring step that you mentioned.

As always, this was great and entertaining. FYI, the word Bottom already implies that nothing is below it. So no need to say bottom most. Think circle or square. These are absolute terms, so you would never have to say more circular or more square. It is either a circle or it is not. Similarity, It is either on the bottom or it is not.
All that said, your are the BEST Photoshop trainer in the world. You are on TOP, or if you prefer, your are the TOP MOST BEST photoshop trainer in the world!

Cannot. not able to leave comments on your new 'Head Replacement' vid tonight so I am leaving it here. Thanks so much for it. I had done a terrible job about 10 years ago and now I know how to correct it. You really are the master PS teacher after watching a number of your YT videos. Have just upgraded to new versions of LR, PS, Luminar Ai as well as 4. Lots of learning curves going on here. Your tips. perfect.

Way cool, and BTW, you can do everything in PS with most video formats using the video edit functions. To create a still, duplicate the video group, move the slider to where you want it, and then select rasterize layer. You now have a still frame that you can drag out of the video group folder. Repeat as desired then composite as shown here

With select subject option life became so easy, I recall I did something of this sort for a packaged drink artwork and to show it popping into the scene in sequence, I had to do all these things manually, probably it was PS 6 extended version and it took me around 2 days

You can open videofiles straight into Photoshop so you can do the snapshots there. Copy - Paste. Althought the Premiere Opacity trick was nice to get the best frames for the composition.

great tutorial as always!
one small change I would do is to select the background from the top frame to cover up the bottom skater instead of content-aware fill. :)
