I've just upgraded to 2021 from CS6 and if wasn't for my job paying for the apps i would've booted it to the curb and reverted back to CS6 extended. Adobe has gone to the dogs with its latest iteration of bloatware. The tracing tool in Illustrator and the Content Aware tools are the ONLY real breakthroughs Adobe have come out with in the last decade, everything else is overly dressed bells and whistles. This whole suite used to be tailored for working professionals now its targeted towards one click millennials. Everything actually TAKES LONGER to access, what in the hell were Adobe thinking hiding all the USEFUL tools under a extra menu flyout? Illustrator is hot garbage having to search everywhere for what used to be bread and butter tools and menu sets. Is there a way to revert the entire workspace from Casual Insta BABY mode back to Efficient Productivity mode?
Worst of all, Tracing and Content Aware haven't even improved much at all from CS6, Adobe have owned Macro Freehand for well over a decade now and still couldnt implement any of the groundbreaking drawing tools and functions from that 'ancient program into Illustrator yet?

I would no sooner rent software as I would rent somebody else's pants. Plus, I trust the Cloud as much as I trust my brother-in-law. Photoshop has played a major role in my life. It is one of the most amazing programs out there available to the general public. But Adobe told us CS6 was the greatest thing since sliced breadI still believe it. It produced great images back it the Stone Age when it was released. Is there any reason it still doesn't have that capability?
Also, the competition is swiftly catching up, at a fraction of the cost. Just look at the stuff being done by the folks at Affinity. I became an Adobe ACE in Photoshop and I still use CS6 quite a bit in addition to competitors' tools. I love Adobe/Photoshop but they lost me with the subscription model. I don't think either partner has lost any sleep over it, though.

interesting. i am a super casual user for photography reasons. i had a CS6 prior to a recent system rebuild (win10) that was being used in a Win7. Needless to say the new drive drive i installed my copy of CS6 was lost. im ok with that. i used it for many years and i knew that the possibility of a subscription model was coming down the pipe for a number of years. $10 per month for the photo bundle, with updates along the way, seems to be reasonable. Anything more than that, as a super casual user, id really think about the NEED for more at a higher price. I do feel for others who need more and are a bit strapped and possibly held back because of the sub. price and how high it could get. Good luck and skill to everyone with this model. And thanks PIXimperfect for some great content and information. Sub'd.

I am so happy to have discovered your brilliant videos, with your great teaching skills, friendly and welcoming presentation! I have a question that seems to come up in most of the videos, I get confused about which kind of layers I can put on top of each other. I used to do adjustments on the regular layers, and I could always do final tweaks on the top layer. Now I am using adjustment layers as you tell us, but then suppose I want to go in and manually brighten the eyes or blur a tiny spot, etc. The top layer will be an adjustment layer, and can't be tweaked with a filter or other adjustments (it will just say I can't do it because there's nothing on this layer. What should I be doing then? Thank you so so so much!

Can file saved from CS6 open in modern photoshop versions?
Context:
I'm currently an intern, and it requires photoshop, but i only have cs6. The job is basically to add flat colors to a comic panel.
So if i did and saved it in cs6, can my employer open, edit it in a modern photoshop Without any problem?
And my laptop is pretty old too so upgrading is not an option.
I do have an ipad and photoshop is available there, but the problem is, apple pay isn't available in our country so there's just no way I'll be able to pay for it.

yes scaling of the photoshop app continues to be a problem on my TCL 55 tv -4K i use as a screen quite successfully, unfortunately i have to reduce resolution to 1080 p for a readable app otherwise the text/icons are tiny. Hope it can get fixed, I've been married to my CS6 extended for over 10 years and love it but this tutorial clearly illustrates why my upgrade to Phontoshop CC last week is well worth it and overdue. Thanks Unmesh your beyond outstanding.

Adobe, leaded by greedy efficient, managers ruining the product. they focused on mass market with unexperienced customers who need simple filters and actions and really forgiven professionals and artist - the people who actually made this product so popular and famous! without us.
there are HUGE issue with all the new versions of PS, i dont care either it subscription or one time payment but the performance of the new products are horrible.

Hello Unmesh, first of all I would like to thank you and congratulate you on your excellent work! One thing I would like to mention regarding Photoshop 2021 is that has a very bad system memory management and drops the total system memory that allows you to use. If you go to preferences and performance have a look at the memory section and compare it with previous versions of Photoshop (even the 2020. You will see what I mean. Best regards.

I swear, Adobe products are like getting a golden ticket to the Wonka factory lol.
You spend hours on playing with the features than minutes on doing anything productive;
And you kind of hope to find either the shortcut key that warms up your car or the one that makes a Oompa dance on the screen.
And not only surprised that you didn't find it but a little shocked that you didn't, as well.

I hated when they changed Refine Edge to Select and Mask. It felt like they completely replaced the whole AI / algorithm behind it. The refine edge was so trouble free and didn't require decontamination and didn't ruin the whole image by resterizing the original imsge.
But let's face it we all get used to every new feature and learn to work around them
Btw loved this comparison video bro

Seeing CS6 still alive fills my heart with joy.
If you have money to buy a beast of machine then you should run the latest version. But if you don't have the money, CS6 will do the job.
We are pretty close to that moment when Photoshop will need 32GB of RAM just to open a photo.
Imagine if Adobe used all the money they get to actually get rid of bloatware and make PS smooth.

CS6 gets the job done, it runs MUCH faster, is more stable, less clutter, responds instantly, has a billion plugins that basically adds all those gimmicks that are in CC these days. Also its free cause who cares if you use crack? Its abandonware and legally they cannot do jack shit about you using it cracked.

Ill upgrade to something not from adobe. Adobe lost their chance. I'm reminded of the past 20 years of disappointments whenever I go to play some old games on my mac os 9 emulator.
acrobat is more than just a reader
one time purchase

CS6 does everything I need it to do, plus I own it. I will sometimes update an app (if it's a really good one I use a lot) even when there's a cost to the update (e. g, Reaper, but so far I do not use any subscription apps at all.

Its very simple: 60$ for a package deal and I only need 3 programs. Its a shit deal. I work with PS, AI, ID thats it. Now why would I pay for audio, video, web tools, etc when theres no need in the slightest?
